I have an old Enfield P14, I have a scope mount for it, so no drilling for bases has to take place. I am going to use it this year for hunting deer, as that is the only rifle avaliable to me, my others are going to be used by someone else in our group. I am going to use the scope for less than one week, probably (hopefully) after sighted in only take one or two shots with it at distances less than 100 yards. The farm has grown up now so longer shots are just not possable. I might put it on a .22 to use at the range after deer season. I want to pay as little as I can, I'm not looking for stunning visuals through it. So my question does anyone have a good recomendation for an around $100 scope in a 3x9x40 or similar? I'll pay a little more, if need be, and it has to stand up to a .303, the rifle kicks quite hard. The stock has been cut down so it is quite light, not the nicest rifle to fire, but hopefully I'll only have to shoot it once.
