best chokes for Citori

I just bought a new Citori Field gun,but it doesn't come with skeet chokes.Are the higher end Browning choke tubes(Diana grade,Diamond grade) really any better than the standard invector plus chokes?If they really are better,I would like to purchase the extended chokes than can be removed and installed without a choke wrench.
 
Field guns don't usually come with skeet chokes because they are... well, field guns.

But I have done the same as you, and bought extended chokes to make life easier, when I needed some new choke tubes. I got mine from Trulock, and I'm quite satisfied with the way they pattern, not to mention the price.

I wanted one Citori for both hunting,and occasional skeet shooting.I will not hunt with a ported gun,so the Citori Field was the logical choice.
 
I replaced all the standard Invector Plus chokes on a couple of Brownings I had with
Briley (non-ported) extended-type aftermarket chokes (as have a lot of other folks shooting a lot of targets around here) . The Invector Plus guns with their overbore barrels tend to throw pretty nice patterns ... you may find "Cylinder" chokes actually pattern a little more effectively for Skeet than the "Skeet" chokes do.

Not at all convinced that the Browning Diana/Diamomd grade extendced chokes are all that much better than any other extended-type choke ... to warrant their cost. Of the more pricey after market stuff, some of the best (on paper & on score) results I've seen have come from Teague and Rhino.
 
Why not use your IC Chokes, there's not a lot of difference.

The gun only comes with one IC choke,so I would either have to use one IC and one Mod,or simply buy two skeet chokes.If you have shot any amount of skeet,you would know that the wiser choice is to buy two skeet chokes.I have decided to buy two skeet chokes,I am just not sure which ones to buy.
 
There are literally hundreds of trap and skeet guns to choose from that do not have ported barrels, Citori's included.

Not according to the Browning site.According to that site,the XS Skeet,which is the only skeet gun listed on the site,is ported in both 12gauge and 20 gauge.The older Citori Skeet guns were not ported,but the new ones are.

But if you can supply a link to a new recent production unported Citori XS Skeet in 12gauge or 20gauge,I would like to see it.

As for trap,they don't interest me.
 
Ported barrels are sort of useless but, the gun they are attached to can be pretty good. Go hunting with a ported barrel, and forget about all the bull-poop that you read about ported barrels. You might be surprised, I was.

And if you decide not to own a ported barrel Citori, go and buy a Berreta.

You will never lose with a B gun.

Please note I am talking about over and unders, I have seen some Browning semi-autos recently that don't seem to cycle target loads too well.

But there is always Benelli and Beretta when we want to discuss that little nasty issue of cycling target loads

+10. I bought a whoooole set of the 'Extended Sporting' ones (skeet through xtra-full) for my Citori/Cynergy, and actually prefer them to the Diana grade ones I have as well.

Easy to remove and they throw nice patterns.

Worked about to be about $20 per tube. Waaaay cheaper than $70+ others want for 'premium' tubes.
