A good solvant and this overpriced and completely unnecessary grease!
Do i want the g96 aerosol spray? or the oil? Also i hear the aerosol doesnt even come with a nozzle so it makes it really difficult to spray in exact spots.
G96 for lubing and the fresh smell.
Hoppes #9 for copper fouling.
For a Glock, you only need to lube the metal contact points on your frame very, very lightly. When you clean the gun, the barrel and chamber face gets the most attention. Do not soak the frame in solvent or lube. It doesn’t need it. I use a dry toothbrush to scrub it. Anything else and you’ll have stuff leaking out of your trigger assembly.
And I second or third the suggestion to get rid of Frog Lube or any Gucci type of gun lube.
so g96 gun treatment spray for longer term storage as well? jsut spray the main points and leave it like that?
Spray! And it does come with a tip.
Hey again, why do I want the aerosol spray over the oil? The oil is the exact same thing they said except its an oil instead of aerosol spray? I feel like the spray wil be more messy and leaves the possiblity of inhaling some
Yup. As long as you lay the Glock on it’s side. Glocks and most polymer guns don’t even really need lubing. Mostly for your peace of mind. How long term are we talking?
G96 is very thin, which is why we like it. Not gummy like FL. But because it’s not viscous, it will flow. Not a problem with handguns but I ended up with a dry AR BCG when I stored one upright for a few months before shooting it and experienced multiple jams and the bolt was bone dry. Wondered why the charging handle area was wet but didn’t give it thought at the time. Cost me a lot during the match!
Sorry to hijack this thread, but I was wondering if you could share the brand of lubricant you use on an AR platform?
G96 aerosol does it all for me.
A lot of people in the know swear by Mobil 1 Synthetic oil for lube on the AR.
A bronze (or nylon) bore brush, the cheapest CLP available and some rags.
