Depends on what you mean by 'tame'. I haven't seen anyone else using them, but I really like the Nordic Components brake on my (now my friend's) 10.5" AR - makes recoil pretty much nonexistant. It's about the same size as the standard A2 flashhider. However, it makes the rifle freaking LOUD - concussion and noise to the sides and rear are worse than my 7.5" Cz with the military brake.

I've been working on a few comps. This one is designed to tame muzzle climb without blasting the people to the sides of you. It should provide some flash suppression (always a compromise with a comp) and is removable for cleaning. It's currently being looked at by one of the board sponsors.

It's big; comparable in size and weight to a Badger FTE. A more compact variant is in the works. This one is intended more for a precision gun.

As cool and bad-ass as it is, the KX3 isn't really a compensator... A bit of a flash hider maybe, but definitely not a comp. Much like the PWS CQB muzzle device, its primary purpose is to direct the sound and fury (blast) of a short barrel AR downrange to offer some protection to the operator and/or his team when shooting in a relatively confined space (aka indoors).

I have a battlecomp on order with OST but I see that they no longer have them listed on their website... :( That's too bad; I am eager to see if it lives up to its reputation as the poor man's Triple Tap.

I guess the next best true comp that you can get in Canada would be the PWS FSC223 at Questar. A great comp, but friggin' loud!

If what you really want to a way to lessen the previewed loudness of your 10.5 incher, then either the Noveske KX3 shown above or the PWS CQB (Questar) will be the ticket. Personally, I prefer the PWS CQB as it offers more flash suppression than the KX3. But both are great devices.

Sounds good, Thanks again... At the range im that guy that sets-up as far away from people as possible...

Will place my order tomorow...

All thats missing now in an AR... lol...

Please do a comparision of your A2 flash hider and which ever comp you get. I have a 10.5 but hadn't yet considered a comp.

MB556K, just try finding one :(

Here's one with my 10.5" LMT! It is by far the best brake i've used.

I had a KX3 on this one as well (before the Surefire)..and the only thing that managed muzzle climb was the sheer weight of it...i sold it fairly quickly.

You find the SureFire breaks for sale in the EE occasionally.

Be warned; It is extremely concussive, right up there with the competition brakes.
