Best CZ .22 LR?

I really love the 452's and currently own an American, Varmint, Silhouette, FS, Scout and now a LUX all in .22lr
 
I have both a 452 American, which I like for the practicality of a light barrel for hunting, and a 453 Varmint, which I like for the trigger. I can't properly compare the accuracy, as they are in different cartridges, the 452 in 22LR and the 453 in 17hmr. The 17hmr is almost capable at 100 yards of what the 22LR can at 50-60 yards.
 
I haven't tried the other models, but the 453 American with the single set trigger is just fantastic! I did the research for my father (he's not too computer savy), and we settled on the 453. It is definitely the nicest .22 that I've seen.

just look at a BRNO model 2 and a 452 Lux, similar rifles, but the BRNO is of better quality, and some say accuracy as well. Usually when dealing with things like firearms or tools, older production is higher quality.

I don't own either of them. But from looking at the two rifles in store it is noticeable that machining marks such as inside the action are much smoother/more polished on the 455. Not to say what you mention is wrong. Older often does mean better quality.

I have 2 455s and a 453. I would very quickly pounce on any 453 in .22lr for a reasonable price... I love that gun. You can see them on page 6 of the CZ rimfire pics thread. My first choice would be a 453.
 
Well I just got a 452 in 17hmr. It is very nice indeed. I would take any cz thought. I did notice that the 455 has less machining marks on it then the 452. Not like there is alot on the 452 though. You will be happy with any cz you choose.

I had a list like this with the Super Exclusive , Lux, Sil, Var, Amer, am 16. I never did have the nickel gun whos name escapes me, never had a scout or farmer.
 
I don't know which is best, because I have only owned one CZ .22, the 452-2E-ZKM. I am constantly amazed at the accuracy (depending on ammo). I have used it in the field for grouse with eley subsonic and I have had great results at the range, target shooting.
 
I have a CZ 452 Lux.

I can recommend it without reservation. It operates cleanly, shoots well... it's just a fantastic gun all around. I'll probably pick up a 455 in the future that I can put a scope on as well (the Lux is designed for the irons).
