Best deal on SKS and Mosin Nagant to BC now?

Hi I just recieved my SKS a 1954 Russian laminate stock version from WANSTALLS for $235.00 with tax and delivery in excellent un-issued condition and no evidence of any re-firb done to it.The rifle was packed great with lots of bubble wrap and shipped in a heavy duty box It is very clean with no evidence and of packing grease and was well oiled. The rifle came with x4 stripper clips - x2 ammo pouches - x1 sling - x1 oil bottle with pouch and a WANSTALLS mouse padw:h: The rifle did not come with a owners manual, cleaning kit or a bill of sale but that is not really an issue as I will just shoot them a e-mail and get one for my records.Very happy with my purchase and hopefully I will get some rounds down range this weekend. :sniper:

If I remember correctly, russian sks's were not fitted with laminate stocks until 1955, yours is likely a refurb, most of them these days are.

Thats not a bad thing though, atleast you know its ready to rock and roll, good springs and all.

I'm wondering if the russian SKS supply is drying up?. Glad I just bought two of them but its got to be inevitable, sometime.

Im pretty sure there is a large enough stock pile to give every man women and child in Canada two..at least :p...same with the Norinco's ...The hard ones that are going to skyrocket in price will be the Yugos and other sks's that are becoming even harder to find... I know this summer I will be looking extra hard for a nice Yugo

SKS is on the way. Just hold on a week or so. We will not have to register those now so process should be faster.

Cheers

Oh oh! I suspect I am going to have to buy another SKS. Your site with all the details and photos is awesome. I wish I could pick one up though.

I bought one today. Just walked into Wanstalls in Maple Ridge picked one up and was out the door with my SKS in under 20 min (only cause I was checking out the 1911's too lol) It's a no brainer, to own a piece of history for under $200...priceless!

Is Tradex the cheapest place to get SKS ammo shipped to BC without the sks?

I've checked most board sponsors, and Tradex has the lowest price, with free shipping. Budget Shooter Supply is the next best, if you're in the lower mainland.

Westrifle has their SKS up on the WWW. $199

They are refurbs with previously unissued laminated stocks. There's no ######s, which means the stocks came from surplus 1955/56 stocks.

I find it a bit odd that one of their ads says "New or Unissued Condition not previously sold at retail or issued. In the same working condition as it came from the factory." But its a 1954 with a 1955/56 stock. Why would a 1954 rifle need to be fitted with a 1955/56 laminated stock unless it needed a new stock in refurb?

They might have assumed that because there was no refurb stamp, it wasn't refurbed, which would be false reasoning. Lots of refurbs are missing refurb stamps.

EDIT: Ah, I figured out what's wrong. The pictures are of a different SKS.

Just came home with my first Red Baby-Eater! The local Home Hardware has them for $249 (no shipping, I was willing to pay extra for right-now), looking up info for it now but it appears to be a Russian, 1955 (according to the stamps), and all numbers visible (stock, mag, bolt carrier and trigger guard) match; laminated stock, blade bayo and came with the sling, oiler, oiler pouch, 2 stripper clips, ammo pouch (some kind of rubberized canvas, looks like) and cleaning kit. Sweet little gun, likely spend all weekend cleaning out the cosmoline! Poor old girl's very greasy!

Their ammo's not so cheap, though... 700 rds of milsurp (looks Russian also, according to the symbols on the unopened crates- 2 sardine cans per crate, 700 rds per can for $200... so I bought 3 boxes of 20@$6.99 each, and looking for a bulk order online (and some reloadable stuff)... this is gonna be fun...

OH, and they offered me one from the back that others hadn't handled... stock seemed slimmer, the bayonet was noticeably thinner and smaller, I passed because the numbers on the trigger guard didn't match everything else.

Hello Everyone,
We have SKS in Stock now.
No SVT-40.Sorry.
Some pictures of SKS are available.
Mosin Nagant 91/30 available too.
Cheers
They will have to continue registering, your info Will be kept,Based on what I am reading in the posts!

It's a shame Westrifle has not got any stock, sks and svt, they are missing out on a bunch of sales ,they did have very nice sks,and there were many pictures of each one, with serial # and you could pick out your exact one at no extra charge. I hope they get some stock in soon, m44's are supposed to be coming too!

Oh yea Tradeex is THE best deal for ammo and sks together no matter where you live,,free shipping, great guns!

I am sorry if I disappoint you but they are drying up.
I am talking about Russian SKS not Norinco I think they still produce them.
All matched numbers are more rare and I have to look for them but if you are looking for refurbs the are available too.

Im pretty sure there is a large enough stock pile to give every man women and child in Canada two..at least :p...same with the Norinco's ...The hard ones that are going to skyrocket in price will be the Yugos and other sks's that are becoming even harder to find...
