Looking for the best deal on once fired 7.62x51 brass. Just wondering where you guys dig up your brass.

I'm looking to reload for my M305 as it's too hard on the Federal 308 brass. I can see the ejector pocket imprinted into the case heads which I don't get on the mil surp stuff.

Federal brass just generally sucks - regardless what you are loading for.
So does IVI. LC is decent, but not all that common in Canada. I would recommend sourcing Winchester (either new, bagged brass or find some white box in bulk).

I have really good luck with the Remington brass..it's much thicker ...although you might need to modify your load due to a smaller case capacity/higher pressure vs the win stuff :) (I load for the m305)
Just my 2cents Sir

I put in a notification message in at Marstar to see when they get theirs in again...if not then I'll give Remington or Winchester a spin. I have maybe a 100 milsurp cases I'll load up and see how they hold up. I'll prefer at least 500 or so as I'd like to shoot those in a batch so I can keep track of how many times they have been reloaded before I pitch them.

Gun Shows and CGN. Nothing thicker, sturdier or heavier than old DA brass. All I use in my M305's and it stands up well to it.

Anything you can find...

Been waiting on Win 308W brass since Aug.... 2012!!!!

Win has now announced that they have discontinued component sales for most of their brass to us reloaders until they get through the massive demands for ammo in the US

See it, buy it....

A great alternative is PRVI - very tough stuff. Does need some brass prep but is showing very good potential in my F TR rifles.

Would be very positive in an M305 or hunting application.

The best part..... IS available... at least for now.

Excellent man. Let me know where you get your PRVI stuff and if I can get a handle on LC or IVI I'll let you know. I'd love to come to Summerland and huck some long bombs out there. I'll practise at 700 with .308 and some 223 so I don't embarrass myself first. Looks like a ton of fun.

"...So does IVI...." Best part about IVI is the brass. It's not common because it gets recycled and any you do find is stolen.
"...too hard on the Federal..." Well known for being softer than other brands. Just means it doesn't last as long.

I wonder if this Dizzy Dan guy was banned for selling stolen brass.

Could be! Did not know he was banned until today! Did a bit of research and Sunray is correct! Oh well there goes my brass guy:( I will not do business with him anymore live and learn!

I reload for the M305 and the Winchester brass is holding up nicely, while reaching the end of its serviceable life near 7-8 reloads. I got it all by buying the white box .308 PowerPoint and I found a local guy selling some on the EE. It's not hard to find if you're just attentive.

I have bags of Federal, Remington, and Hornady brass left. Probably going to start loading the Hornady once the Winchester gets tossed...

My last batch of brass was from the tactical unit over here with some left for me by the rc's. Not trying to get anyone into trouble over brass either as it's if I'm trying to buy tank parts or make my own enriched uranium. :)

Thanks for the info on the Winchester and PRVI holding up well. I'll keep everyone in the loop on what I find a deal on.

allahu Akbar Just kidding just kidding :)
