best deer bullet for .243?

Biggest whitetail deer to date was with a 95 gr Ballistic Tip. Several more after with the 100 gr Partitions. All handloaded stuff. Couldn't see any appreciable difference in the end results. Two went 20 yds and piled up...3 bang flops !

100 grain Nosler Partitions or 100 grain Speer Grand Slams have been excellent for me.

And I have never recovered either a 100 grain partition or Grand Slam either. Complete pass-throughs 100% of the time.

Wife has one kill with her 243. 100gr partition. Bear spun, dropped, death moaned and expired within seconds. Golf ball sized exit is what I remember.

I meant to take the 243 deer hunting but forgot it was in the safe. Would happily take it with partitions, NBT, federal blue box or any other bullet that groups and will open up quickly and transfer a lot of energy.

If thats a repeatable result, it sounds like just about any larger caliber cartridge.
