Going to hunt deer for the first time at the begininng of november in Qc.

I know nothing about deer calls. Whats is the best caller ? I don't want electronic callers.

What is the best fake antlers to practice rattling ?

Can you help me to source those from an online site ?

There are many good grunt calls available... the Knight n' Hale EZ Grunter series is inexpensive and realistic... they also make a Rattle Bag with synthetic nylon rods, which are not affected by moisture... I would get two sizes of rattle bags, a smaller, lighter higher- pitched bag and a larger deeper pitched bag... wouldn't hurt to have a couple grunt calls either (and a doe bleat if you want)... you can buy instructional DVD's or just YouTube it... I use custom calls and bags but you don't need to go to that expense just starting out...
 
I use Rattlin Sticks, made by Hughes Products Co. They are two sticks which you can rattle, the brown stick is also a bleat call, and the green stick is a grunt call. They come on a lanyard you wear around your neck, and are easy to tote around. Ive had these for over 20 years now and don't even know if they are still available. They work great, but keep in mind that sometimes calling will bring the deer in, other times it will spook them and many times they deer will just ignore it.
I like them because the two sticks do it all, and saves hauling a pair of rattling antlers around with you.

Dont bother with rattling and other gimmics
I am from haida living in old Massett
Don't get a plastic deer call a home made call made frum wood and rubber band work's better
November is just right for calling deer you can get the home-made wood call from me or any local hunter ther not hard to make
When im hunting this time of year i like putting on th Km i drive up logging roads or hike the beach wen I see a doe or fown I get on the call to try and convince the buck out (if ther is a doe then ther will be a buck hiding in the bush)
worning when working call the doe's and fown will com right up to you, but just keep working your call your buck is there

Had alot of calls over the yrs and have settled with the MAD® Buck Growl, and Quaker Boy bleat can... A rattle bag is a good choice also..
 
I started using the MAD Hyper Growl and Doe Bleat last year, they have a very good realistic sound to them and the hyper Growl also comes with a good instruction DVD.
 
we are talking about Haida Gwaii black tail deer you can get a deer call that works the best right at home or make it your salf its not hard and it works
 
I have a 2 1/2 year old whitetail buck that has hung around my house since his mother was killed by a car. HENRY is now a nine pointer with one drop tine. He is very tame, but Testosterone is flowing, and he is getting aggresive...whenever we shoot the crossbows for practice, he hears the "whack" and shows up at the target. If I rattle with an empty water bottle, play it with your fingers, he immediately comes, throws caution to the wind, and starts rolling his antlers, and curling his top lip.I have tried the drinking bottle rattling with other young bucks, and they like it... Bought two.

Still have the Brawler. The other went back to the store.

Got myself a little Primos bleat can also. Sounds good but not very loud.

Other suggestions?
