Best deer hunting in Canada

Between 4 Wing and Camp Wainwright. Excellent genetic stock comprising of large bodies and horns with lots of calcium in the feed and water to aid those genes.

I hate to break it to ya'll, but I can shoot 6, 8,even 10 point bucks from my bathroom window! in Manitoba we have so many deer their becoming a major problem with traffic. I've watched herds of over 100+ move across my fields.
You see so many while working the field in the fall it's unreal.
If a person can't get a deer in a hour or so, they weren't really trying or were like we do sometimes, just sit & wait for that special one!
The stupid thing is you can only buy 3 tags per season.
Unless you bow hunt then you can buy 3 more.
Then their are limited areas where you can only use mussel loader or shotgun with slugs.
2 more seasons. But the season only go for about 2 or 3 wks. Bow season goes for about 3 month in the fall.

By the way, What all these gun polls in Toronto?
What thier making the laws for all Canada?????
No thanks!

Herds of 100+??! That's it!, I'm heading for Manitoba this fall! Can anyone recomend a nice B&B? ;):D
YEP IN ELIE MB. L.O.L.
But I must admit the biggest moose I ever seen while hunting were in
Bolins Bay,Sudbury Ont. My uncle owned a hotel on the bay & had a hunting cabin across the lake. Huge moose.
I have seen pics. of large moose in Alaska & Newfounland too.
But not personaly while in the field
Biggest grounghoggs I even saw was on the base at CFB. borden Ont.
Big as badgers. you could get close to them too.
They knew they were safe there.

The area that I've seen that has had the most Whitetail Deer is the area between Yorkton Saskatchewan and Roblin Manitoba.

For Mule Deer I don't think you can beat the Great Sand Hills in Southwest Saskatchewan! Seems like a herd in every field!!!

Most of the fields I've seen with lots of deer are posted and the only people allowed to hunt there are the farmer and all his friends and relatives. :(
So buy a country home & a field like I did.

Funny my friend in Florida belongs to a gun club. They all buy a membership that comes with 1 1/4 acre's of land, for which you get a deed.
The club has over 20,000 acres. you can't build a perament struture on it
& you agree that all members can hunt on it, as you can on their's,
The result is he hunt's hogs & deer yr. round! with a .45 hungun! legaly!
Not a bad idea eh!

That being said, I would have to say SK and MB are pretty much neck and neck for number one with AB a very close 3rd.

And as far as the taste of the meat between the three, I couldn't tell a difference. Or at least I don't think so. I would more peg any differences to ages of the animals.

Manitoba whitetails taste like pine trees.Yuck! Much better to hunt SK where the deer are all grainfed. I hear that even the northern deer taste like carrots.:p

I don't know about carrots? L.O.L.
I just had deer for dinner. Tasted great.
After all it was grazing on my oats all summer.

Last Wk. I made my texas venison chilli.
Hot , But great.
Is corn classed as a projectile??? L.O.L.

Saskatchewan..cause Jim Shockey says so;)\
All kidding aside, I've only hunted Ab and Sask, but from what I've seen with my kills and other hunters I'd say it's a toss up. I can't comment on Mb but I'm sure they hold some records as well.

A friend of has a record muley on his wall he shot in B.C. a few yrs.ago.
At the time it was a confirmed record.
What's stupid out here is: You can use a crossbow in rifle season & muzzleloader season. But not in shotgun & muzzleloader season???
I wonder whose stupidity that was???

That's why SK or Ont would be better choices than Manitoba. I would recommend AB but I hunt there too.:p;)

Depends what you're after. Best meat, the succulent WT outside my back door are grain fed, yum yum. But the best WT horns are up north and the best mulie racks are in the south. By my know-how anywhoooo. I've left home in the wee hours and kissed my wife on the cheek as she lay half asleep. I'll be home by 9:00 honey, have the coffee on...meat's on the hook. Never dissapointed her.

It just this area. City folks keep moving farther out & you know yuppie's!
The stupid idea that a crossbow will shoot farther than a muzzel loader or slug gun was probably made by some city folk that never hunted in their lives!
Like most of the stupid rules out here.
I wonder what thier going to do when that reservation opens in wpg. on the Kapyoug barracks land? They'll be able to hunt on their land!! in the middle of the city! The Indian act. L.O.L.
