Best factory ammo for coyote hunting?

Hey all

I'm wondering what kind of .223rem factory ammo would be best for coyotes. Shooting it out of a 1in9 twist semi auto.

I was thinking I was gonna try some wichester bulk HPs, Hornady 55gr Vmax, and some kind of medium weight federal premium ammo.

Suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Dont use the Winchester bulk packs of 45 grain JHP. They are ok on smaller varmints but I am less than impressed with their performance on Coyotes. I am shooting a 22-250. I killed a yote week before last using those rounds, 100 yard shot right in the boiler room and he took off and ran 25 yards before dropping. I shot another the day before @ 200 yards and lost him. He dropped in his tracks, another good solid hit right behind the front leg, had my scope on 16X and saw the hit, he got back up and into some willows before I could reload and that was the last I saw of him. I searched the small willow lined pothole for an hour to no avail.

I was impressed with the performance of Hornady's 55gr VMAX ammo. It shot great in my Savage. I mostly handload, but like to compare my handloads with factory ammo. IMHO the VMAX bullet is great for coyotes if you are intending to save the pelt. One .22cal entry wound with no exit.

^ x 2. I also shoot 53gr. Hornady "SuperPerformance" too, though I've never shot a coyote with one.

I shoot Hornady 45 gr match. Good results, works better out of my 1:9 twist NEF than anything else I've tried so far. And great results for not creating much damage on the pelts. A bonus is it's not as expensive as the VMax and better accuracy than the bulk.
