I'm currently using a cheap Bushnell 3-9x40 with Burris Z-rings on my .22lr bolt rifle.
It works ok in the natural outdoor lighting but it seems I mainly use my rifle indoors @ 25m now. The indoor lighting is mostly bad @ 25m so I find my variable cloudy and blurry.
I'm considering a fixed 4x scope because I have read they are clearer and brighter at the same price range (<$200).

Any opinions on which 4x fixed power scope is the clearest/brightest and will fit my Burris Z-rings.

Thanks.

I have an old fixed 3x Bushnell Scopechief on one of my .22s. Getting moved to my daughter's Rascal once I get the mount on there.

I have fixed 4X on my rimfires and it suits me fine for what I do-casual target shooting and potting grouse at ranges under 50 yards.I can see higher power scopes for longer ranges or competitive shooting, but not for what I use a .22 for-fun shooting.Got a couple of old Scopechiefs-fine scopes and they never let me down

I have a Weaver Classic Rimfire 4X on my 10/22.... it may not be the "best" straight power scope for a .22, but it's a nice scope for the money.
