Best folder for 10/22?

Trying to decide between a Choate or a Butler Creek folder for a 10/22. I prefer to go with the butler creek but can't find any Canadian dealer selling these, or any folders for that matter for the 10/22s, period! Are they banned or prohibited in Canada? Another forum says that a 10/22 carbine model with a Butler Creek folder has +27" OAL. Do they still make these? I am usually pretty good at finding stuff on the net, but these folders elude me completely. They must be prohibited for some reason, if not, can some1 point in the right direction? Any advice, or suggestions would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance.

J Man,
I've had both the BC and Choate folders and either one are a very solid, well build stock.
The problem getting one now is that demand has dropped off for them and frankly, not many dealers or distributors in the USA are willing to ship them here anymore.
Keep your eye on the EE forum. They still pop up there every so often.
Good luck!

Butler creek folders were listed in the most recent cabelas catalogue. I dont see it on the website, but the catalogue has it so maybe try phoning in. here is an ATI folder they do list;

Hey Wham-O,

Is that the 10/22 carbine 18.5" model you've got in those stocks? If so, is the OAL in them +26" when they are folded closed? Dumb question, as I'm sure you would not have done it if that was not the case, but if not for my wallet's sake before I order it up from the States. Which stock has the tightest fit and lock of the 2? Do you like 1 more than the other?

Thanks,
Wham-O

Sorry J Man....I have since sold both of mine, so I can't accurately answer your question.
Both stocks had great fit and feel and locked up nice and tight.
Contact CGN members Lone-Wolf or Cyclone. They will be able to help you with the OAL measurement when closed.
:cheers:
