Best full metal pistol

No prob. I just wondered where the opinion came from. FYI the SP-01 and the SP-01 Tactical don't come with a FO front sight.

Yeah, they would be better choices than the shadow, but still 20% heavier than a regular 75. The other thing about the shadow is that it has a 2 lb SA trigger pull, too light for any high stress situation, as I'm informed. Again, not as much of a problem with the tactical, regular or even phantom models. Actually, the phantom (polymer) might not be bad, but is irrelevant to this conversation.

I would say your opinion is based on some pretty solid logic..I'm a little concerned about the bold section :D

LMAO. I was just refering to the earlier post where I mentioned I shoot my friend's pistol a lot. When you take the " ' " out of the word it changes things a bit :D

Just off the top of my head:

CZ 75
BHP
1911
Some P226's (Stainless, X-Five, etc.)

If your worried about durability, redleg knows a bunch about what handguns last the longest, TSE runs a range. I think he mentioned that the P226 and the CZ 75 last the longest out of the range guns.

I am thinking about upgrading my P226 to an all steel model, but not so much for durability reasons, but for bullseye shooting. The steel frame adds an extra pound to what I'm thinking of converting to.

Here is something strange! I just went to Ellwood Epps website to look at CZ 75B availability and prices and it says right there: "CZ 75B BLACK POLYMER". Polymer??? I thought everybody agreed that CZ 75B's are all-Steel! Back to square one? :bangHead:

I think the term Black polymar is the finish of 75B, they also have a two tone and satin nickel. I have the satin nickel one which is a damn good looking gun. shoot nice and solid as hell.

Yes, it's the finish of the pistol, I have the black poly-coat CZ 75B

it's like a black coat paint, then the CZ 75B is really a FULL metal pistol...you can trust me LOL!!

+1

Or single stack 1911A1.

in .45acp :D

Finally, have narrowed it down to CZ 75B and Baby Eagle. Man...that is a hard choice. Handled them both at Ellwood Epps today and they both feel excellent. Baby Eagle is on the heavier side, but feels a bit more solid for $150 more. Has anybody fired them both? What are your thoughts?

p.s. Since I couldn't make my mind which one of the two I should pick, I did the right thing and bought a Russian Tokarev tt33 for now (while I am thinking!!!). $189. Now that is an all-steel handgun! I will still go back for CZ or Baby Eagle after I hear from you guys.

In choosing between the CZ-75 and the Baby Eagle, you may wish to consider if the Baby Eagle can use the CZ .22LR "Kadet" conversion kit.

I use this kit with my SP-01 Shadow, and it's great for inexpensive practice. Very accurate (I get about 1.5" groupings at 25m on a good day), and it works well with target ammo (most other kits require high velocity ammo, which is less accurate).

Here's sample target (9mm and .22LR, 25m, 5.5" bullseye)::)

I've fired them both: they're the same... Biggest benefit of the CZ (which I personally own), is the IPSC support and number of bolt-on parts, holster accessories available, not to mention the Kadet conversion kit for the 75 B :D

I owned the baby eagle and it was a good gun until it broke after 500 rounds and I required warranty work. My 2 cents is stay away from the Eagle because if something goes wrong the warranty isnt worth S**T. 4 months and numerous lies to get it back.

That is not good. One of the selling points of the Epps salesman for Baby Eagle was that it is build like a tank and will last generations. It certainly feels that way. But if other people have had this type of bad experiences with Baby Eagle's quality/warranty, than there is no more to be said.

Can people who have owned and fired Baby Eagle for a while speak to us please?

I'm not a fan of the Jericho at all, feels "clunky" in my hands. I know it's a CZ clone, but at the time I fired it, I didn't know that and I didn't like the feel. Ironically, I love my CZ, so that was like a double-blind taste test.
