I have a 4th gen glock 17. What are the best after market sights in peoples opinions? And please don't respond with "more trigger time" or tell me I'm an idiot for wanting to change my sights. Honest helpful answers please.

Tru-glo TFO's. Fantastic sights.

all my glocks get the meprolight treatment(tritium with fully adjustable rear), the adjustable model do the job in daylight as well as in the dark, and on top of that i use my G17 with the adjustable rear (elevation/windage) at the match with good effects.

I have a set of Kyle DeFoor Ameri-Glo on my Gen4 right now and they're great. It's a range and game gun, so tritium inserts are useless.

I'm going to get a set of Warren Tactical sights to try on my next Gen4.

If you're only using it on the range, spending the extra money for night sights is, to me, a waste.

I like Trijicons. Maybe a waste, but I can, so I do. Some would say owning restricted in Canada is a waste too.

That's great, and I'll never say you shouldn't be able to buy and own what you want. That's not the point I'm trying to make at all. When I say a waste, I mean the extra money spent could go towards more ammo, a good holster, proper shooting glasses, things that will give you a measurable improvement on your shooting or scores or times, etc.
Unless of course, shooting well doesn't mean much to you, and it's more about looks and having cool stuff hanging on your gun. Then go all out and buy tritium sights that you'll most likely never use except when you admire them going into the dark safe or cabinet when you put your guns away.

But, just so the OP knows, the Glock night sights have a much better warranty on the tritium than trijicon does, and for less money, they glow just and bright.

Some would say owning a $7500 SR-25 is a waste as well, but Questar has no problem selling the few he's been able to bring in.

ps: while trijicons may be great 'fighting' sights suitable for a working gun, there are better options out there for target or action shooting such as IPSC and IDPA.

Sevigny Fibre Optic Competition Sights

I don't find much utility in tritium sights; my guns are locked away enough that I go would for other items in a HD scenario, though a nighttime range shoot might make them useful... Fiber optic front with blacked out rear would be my choice.

I own a set of tritium sights and am happy with them.

I recently found these. They have received great reviews and they ship to Canada. I'm tempted to try out a set.
