Hey all,

I am wondering what you guys think the best loads and brands are best for goose hunting? what do you use and why? Any feed back would be awsome.

Thanks---------Crick:)

180 speer round-nose at 3000fps :)
Just kidding, I like the kent faststeel. My 1187 seems to like it too? Don't have any issues and seems to do the job every time. I seem to have best results with BB, alot of guys I hunt with use BBB but I haven't found the need to change. Also am sticking with the 3 inch, can't find a need for 3 1/2 either. 3 is fast and does the job. I can't even imagine how many birds I harvested with 2 3/4, so the 3 inch seems sufficent! My 2 cents!

I like Kent Fast steel 3 1/2" 1 1/4Oz shot at a whooping 1625FPS BB's

Reason for liking this shot/brand:
Very round and uniform pellets.
Fastest speed I can find.
Works great in my 870 rem.

There only 19.45 for 25 :D

as far as steel goes, I think a 3" 1 1/8 oz load @ 1500 fps is good. I prefer BBB size pellets. keep shots to 35 yards or closer for best results.

My mossy 835 isn't picky but i like anything over 1500 fps in bb shot. When i shoot, those honkers don't know what hit them.

I use Challenger 2.75" BBs. They pattern quite well in my gun, get good velocity and a box of 25 is less than $10. Kent is good, but pricier. Tried some winchester Experts and didn't like them. Federals were actually pretty good at $13 for a box.

Umm.... the load that patterns best in YOUR gun.
#2's or larger, and keep the speed up.
What shoots good in buddies is a downer if your gun wont pattern them worth a hoot.
Do your home work. Get to the pattern board at the range.

Goose related.

Hey guys,

I'm still trying to figure out how all this thread stuff works. I have a 3 yr old Beretta AL391 Urika I'm trying to sell. Can someone tell me how I can post it on here with a picture.

Thanks,
Rocket.

10g Hand loads LOL 48.0 g of Aliant steel, Sam-1 wad, 1 1/2 BBB, Fed hulls, 1/2 may be more felt spacer under shot pack tight, and 1600FPS later.

But seriously for my 12 3 1/2 I like Kent Fast steel 1 1/4 BB loads! If shootoing 3s I drop a 1/8 to 1 1/8 BB or BBB to keep the speedGood luck.
SPEED KILLs!

Challenger, either 2.75 or 3" depending on the day, at least BB if they're right over the decoys, but I've also used the T & F stuff when they are high and it works great.

Win X-pert, 3", 1-1/8oz BB @ 1550FPS is the best patterning load I've found out of my gun, textbook perfect in fact. Feds and Kents give me a decent useable pattern, but Rem Nitro-Express was completely useless. You really do need to try some in your gun to see how they pattern. Two guns that appear identical may not pattern well with the same loads.

Hey guys thanks for all the great help. I went out and bought some Kent, federal, and I tried some remington. I liked the Kent the best and so did my gun so thanks for the help, the federal will be graet as back up ammo, for the prize of the ammo, it shot very well.

Thanks again----Crick
