Best grain for .338 Lapua

Hey all,

Ive got a Barret MRAD, 24.5 inch barrel, 1-10 RH Twist. I'm wondering what grain I should go with. 285 or 300? It seems like 250 grain has trouble in longer distance shooting.

Anyone have any advice?

You have to do the homework. Some like 250gr, others like the 285gr and the last like the 300gr. Some are even fussy about the brand of bullets.
My Savage 110 FCP Law Enforcement with a HS stock likes the 285gr the best.

285’s with Retumbo work well in the MRAD. They are pain to get though and only come 50 to a box. I do not understand Hornady’s thinking on that one. Lapua 300 OTM run great in the MRAD, come 100 to a box and are a better price than the competitors. If you are interested in some load Data for 250, 285 and 300’s PM me.
