Best grain size for 9mm

We were all new shooters once. Go easy on the criticism of questions you deem stupid, if you want people to continue to join and enjoy your sport. Are you an ambassador or a deterrent?

Several of the answers were constructive, or at least good to know regarding certain makes preferring different weights.

The most accurate ammo I have shot out of my CZ has been 124gr, (handloads) but I am going to be working up a load soon with Speer plated 147 gr. Sellior Bellot 124gr ammo shoots really well, but my suggestion would be to try and see what your gun likes best, and then practice. Good luck!

Exactly, whats with all the stupid questions on this site lately?

a lot of new shooters coming in to the sport. You can welcome them with open arms and help them out, or criticize them for not knowing everything....or at least as much as you do...... Your choice.

It was a good question, some of the answers are pretty stupid.

Ammo is changing. There was a time when 147 gr bullets were THE choice for 9mm, those days are gone, and most know for CD 124 gr is hard to beat as it's accurate, followup shots are easier to hold on target and bullet technology has advanced to the point of making the lighter grained bullets as or more effective than the heavier bullets.

For target accuracy the answer is gun specific.
