I want something with more versatility. A T3 in 6.5CM topped with a good 2-7 or 2.5-8 would be perfect for a newbie deer hunter.

I'm not sure any rifle would be good a good fit for a deer, their hooves are much to large to fit inside the trigger guard.

I love my lever guns but when longer shots are expected I use "old faithful" 30-06 TC Encore or the new 264 Win mag model 70

Caliber matters more than the rifle. Heres a good chart

I personally use 30-06 its a great round for pretty much everything. Rifle brands are an afterthought after you decide on caliber but the finnish Tikka is what I use id reccomend either that or the finnish Sako brand. But honestly any rifle that shoots will do lol. Of the calibers 308, 30-06, 7MAG are all good rounds id reccomend
