7 pin sidelock ejector guns. Who makes the best quality for the price? AyA used to be but prices have steadily climbed over the past few years. Are they still the go to or is there another maker who offers high qualtiy for resonable money?
I realize quality is expensive im not looking for cheap but holland and holland and purdy are out of my price range

Im looking for a simple 7 pin sidelock ejector preferrably case color hardened reciever with high grade fancy wood straight english stock and splinter forend to be used for hunting. Looking for the best quality per dollar

New AyA #2's are significantly less money than new Arrieta's and probably just as good so better value for the money in my opinion. And slightly used AyA's can be had for a lot less than new price, I paid less than half new price for a #2 in 28 gauge that was a year and a half old a couple of years ago.

12 bore sidelock prices are depressed, when compared to small gauge guns. Short barrel guns are out of fashion. British gun prices have fallen significantly, except for the most exceptional guns.
I have recently seen an AyA sidelock XXV 12 gauge in like new condition, that was an absolute steal of a deal.
Much depends on exactly what you are looking for.

Was looking at new. Maybe made to my specs but ill look at used. Havent really set a budget. Ideally under $7500.
Its more for when i finish the renos and pay off the house

Theres been a few guns in the ee that have caught my eye but are not exactly what im looking for and theyve sat there for some time. I know of the major spanish and britishs names but there are so many i havent heard of. Id rather buy a leaser name for less money if the quality is on the same level. Im not interested in resale value as ill likely keep it if its exactly what i want. I really do like the aya guns ive shot as well as the grullas ive handled. Im not looking to spend over $15000. Not at this time anyway

I have no pricing whatsoever upon which to base my suspicions, but I've been trying to find someone in Canada that will order/import one of these Turkish "Dickinsons" for me. Again, just my instincts doing the talking - but I suspect one could obtain a very fine, bespoke sidelock from these folks:

ht tps://dickinsonarms.com/custom

ETA: Just checked out their warranty. Dickinsons carry a lifetime warranty (subject to the survival of the company, of course). They appear to now have US distribution, so I guess a price won't be as hard to obtain, now.

Dickinson. Huglu and Yildiz all make upgraded guns, just that the only ones imported to any extent, are the Dickinsons. They show them on the other two sites, but, you'd have to special order.

$7500 Dickinson, huglu , yildiz , not a chance those companies do not offer quality at any price . Go to guns international shotgun site and see what $7500 cnd will buy you . It will buy you a lot of gun for that amount of money . $5-6000 us plus getting it here $8500 cnd will buy a very nice gun .

Prophet river did at one time carry dickinson i believe. They have a grade 4 huglu coming but im not looking for a turkish made gun. British. Scottish. Spanish. Either a well respected name or high quality gun from a smaller maker with high reputation for quality

There are many small makers out there that make incredible game guns but the lack of info in frustrating

Most of the value/quality makers of Spanish sidelocks are gone. Current prices of most Arrieta, Grulla, ore even AyA are not a bargain.
Dickinson guns are carried by Cabelas in the US, but they only had them briefly in Canada. When Cabelas Canada cleared out their Dickinson guns there were some bargains to be had.
There are some pretty nice Orvis imported sidelocks in the US, at reasonable prices, but you would have to choke down the exchange and importer fees.
If you are familiar with high quality sidelocks, and handle Huglu guns, you will find they are missing the elusive grace that you are looking for. I am not dissing Huglu guns - they fill a niche.
