It seems I hurt terminator101 who is such a great writer himself. I have seemed to hurt his sens of propriety with my topic so I will do one last thing before leaving this forum forever. I will say this to this self righteous prick. Go #### yourself. you're the reason gun owners have a bad reputation. ####head like you make the rest of us who come here for honest info and some good humored bantering feel un welcomed. I have never turned someone down because he had a stupid question. No questions are stupids only the answers can have that privilege and judging from your previous posts you tend to abuse that privilege

Well said Mikey! My dad had Central Serous Retonopathy (guessing at spelling)in his right eye so he had to start shooting left handed. He got so good at it he was shooting the heads off Ptarmigan with his 10/22. After he passed I gave my 10/22 to my wife and kept his even though mine was in better shape.

Correct me if I'm wrong virus2338 but When I read your first post it looked to me that "What's the best gun ever???" was just a rhetorical question which you answered with a good answer, "Depends on only one thing: what's your budget..."

Then it seemed your thought went right over most peoples heads and they got into the idea that it was really a question you wanted an answer to.

It seems the thread got out of control. I was indeed asking a rethorical question. There is no such thing as a universally best gun. the proof is this website... just look at the may ads or questions floating around: what's best for bear, deer, moose, mouse and woodchuck :) . My personal favorite is a ruger no1 international in 7x57 mauser and I'm in the process of building a rifle in 6.5x55 to go with it but as a target shooter. I own rifles from all the majors and love them all.

So to all who answered my question: whatever you feel you need it's quite alright. the quest for the perfect gun will keep all the sponsors of this site busy for the next few decades God (and the conservatives) permits :nest:

God riddance ! I will not respond to your insults as it will only lower me to your level and that's something I would never do . Hope you do find what you're looking for as I said in my other post.:wave:
