Best hearing protection while hunting?

I have a bit of hearing loss from power tools and loud concerts. Therefore, I am concerned about further hearing loss.

My solution for hunting is a set of those ear plugs on a rope. They weigh practically nothing (9 grams), and just sit around my neck all day. If I get into a position where I have to make a quick shot, I wont bother with them, but if I have some time to take the shot I'll put them in.

I want to get some electronic earmuffs and give 'em a try, but they wouldn't fit over my full brim leather hat anyways so I'm not sure how much I'd actually use them.

I think I am going to get the MSA Sordin Supreme Pro-X with the neck band because I also wear a hat on occasion.

Don't hate... I'm blessed with excellent hearing. Now if I can only say the same for my vision. Dang contact lenses.

You should protect your blessings... :)

I normally hang cheapies around my neck and tuck under my collar. If time allows I pop them in. If not oh well. Prob not a wise decision to not be able to hear your surrounding if you’re alone in the woods.

The old saying goes, the more you hear now, the less you'll hear later.
Tried electronic muffs when hunting partridge with a friend a few years ago, he heard the thumping in the bush not far away, I didn't. Use a soft plug in my right ear now, though I think we're going to stick with .22s from now on.
