I'm planning to pick up some high density 3" 12ga shells and pattern them in my gun. Obviously these type of shells cost a lot so I was wondering what everyone's opinion was of some of these type of shells like federal ultra-shok, remington wingmaster hd, kent tungsten matrix and hevi-shot.

Don't forget to try the winchester supreme elite HD extra dead whatever they're called. They seem to pattern nicely for me atleast.

If you're not set on a heavy shot per se, then go for the Black CLoud without a doubt. Very effective and about 1/3 of the price

I've used black cloud and it does not have the range I need. I won't be hunting over decoys. I don't mind expensive stuff since I'll probably only be shooting at a goose once a year as a target of opportunity. So a high density shot is what I prefer. The remington wingmaster hd has a density of 12 g/cc which is better than lead and hevi-shot. Has anyone used these?

Nope, havent used them but have used heavy shot and like you... dont mind the expence as I dont shoot a lot and like their performance.
