Hey guys , I as much as the next guy loves a good hunting magazine with great stories and photos that we can all relate too, It is hard not to love stories of huge whitetails being stalked and shot but it is even better when the stories and camps are right here in Ontario and other parts of Canada !!!!!!!!!!
I came across this website for a new magazine that is starting and was extremely impressed and they sent me a free issue. The site is www.ontariomonsterwhitetailsmag.com I just want to see if anyone else out there has seen it and agrees that it is nice to have a legit and informative mag in our own back yard !!!!!!!!

My neighbour and hunting buddy does some freelance writing and editing. He mentioned something about doing some work on this mag the last time I was over there. Maybe the monster 8pt he got this past fall will be in the next issue. Only an 8, but huge spread and long tines. Beat the h@ll out of the little guy I got.
 
Never seen it up here in the great frozen, but if you like Canadian stories Big Game Adventures is pretty good. Light on the technical side but lots of "Me and Joe" hunting stories.
 
I used to like Big Game Adventures alot more before it became 50% hunitng ranch stuff and ads.

I'm sure that the publishers make more $$, though.:)

As for Ontario Monster Whitetails...YAWN. Canada is a big place!:p
 
It is a good mag. I've just rec'd my trial issue. I will be contacting Paul to get my subscription.

If it's as good as Big Buck, someone let me know. Big Buck is the only magazine I subscribe to and read regularly.

By FAR the best hunting/fishing/outdoor equipment mag I've ever seen is sentier Chasse/Peche in (surprise) Quebec! We subscribed a few years back and I'm amazed at the wealth of really good articles with lots of technical information. Is it in French? Sure is. First year I just looked at the pictures and wished I had a clue what the heck was being said. Now I sort of struggle along and my wife the High School French Teacher helps with the tricky stuff. Helps she has her PAL and loves hunting. In all fairness they have a fantastic magazine! Really good technical firearms monthly features, too.

A big opps on this. I have to apologize . The mag I got in the Hunter Safety course is Ontario Out of Doors. Great magazine! ( But) Monster Whitetails is sitting here on my desk ;) ;)
 
I'd like to thank everyone for their comments...and I agree, there are some great other magazines out there. This is an Ontario-based publication designed to showcase the many great hunting opportunities Ontario has to offer, and for the first time, give hunters from Ontario a chance to read about deer in their neck of the woods. I can understand the westerners partiality to other mentioned publications but if you like big bucks, you'll like this mag too.
 
Yup,

I picked up a copy of Chasse/Peche for something to read on the plane back when I went to Quebec to see family 3 years ago.

It had the most comprehensive lengthy article I have ever seen on how to take care of your black bear after it is shot to get the best quality meat and trophy I have ever seen.
