Hey guys I had the best hunting season ever this year.
Our gang drew a moose tag for area 39 cow in Ont.The tag came in my name,even better.
We saw a couple of bulls the first 3 days but no cows.
Day 6 I went up to a hard wood ridge and stopped on top looking around.we had 10 hunters in our gang and can party hunt together as long as you are within 5 kms of each other and can communicate from one to the other.
I saw a calf moose right away but could only see its small head and big ears sticking out from behind a tree,so I waited and waited,them said f it and aimed my Winchester 1885 lowwall chambered in 6.5 x 55 swede shooting 140 Nosler Accubond hand loads.Boom calf disappears,cow jumps up,Boom cow drops like a stone,other calf gets up and Boom calf starts to run Boom it drops.
4 shots with a single shot 3 moose on the ground.Now the work begins contact the other members and get them out as it is already 14 degreese and going up to 23 this afternoon.We used 3 four wheelers to get them to the truck and trailer and then skinned them, then straight to the butcher shop to hang them in the cooler.
Deer hunting, same rifle and load nice big doe on 3rd day shot off my left shoulder as I coudnt turn around,Im right handed, and a nice 7 point buck that should of been an 8 but one point broke off,buck was all scarred up from fighting it weighed 177 pounds dressed.It was shot at 10 to 5 Friday afternoon,with only 10 minutes left of hunting for me as I had to leave the nexted morning to go home and celebrate my 27 wedding anniversary.
