Looking at getting a holster for IPSC or IDPA comps I have a Glock 20 what do people recomend for holsters?

thanx

I don't know if you have an ebay acount but anything that people mention to you will be on ebay new and pretty cheap check it out.

Hi

A holster for IDPA must meet the criteria set forth in the rule book. Lots of holsters meet that criteria, but may not be the best for IPSC as most IPSC shooters like using an over belt rig. Taboo in IDPA.

Having said that, if you just want one holster for both games, then pick one for IDPA and it will work ok for IPSC. Later on, if you prefer IPSC over IDPA, you came select something specific for IPSC.

Lots of Glock guys I have seen like that plastic Glock holster that is molded to fit the gun exactly. Should be ok for IDPA as it is consealable.

I'm trying to resurrect this post as I have the exact same question. Have any new products come out in the last 15 months, or does anyone have any other comments or recommendations on the above suggested holsters? (I have a Glock 17)

Any comments on any of the following?:

Fobus GL2BH BELT Holster

Fobus Level 2 Retention ROTO HOLSTER

Blackhawk CQC Serpa Holster

I'm assuming that polymer is the hands-down choice (although I know of at least a couple of guys at my club have leather)

Thanks, everyone!

I'm a firm beleive that friends dont let friend use Fobus.
and I've added the Serpa CQC's to that as well.

I've just bought a CQC for my Glock 17 and kinda like it. What's your reasoning for hating it?

Well I know some here like them -- but its been binned by several agencies in the US due to the prevalence of ND's with it -- the locking mech starts a movement that is similar to a trigger pull.
Secondly the lock jams very easily.

I had one -- I gave it away when it was decertified by the guys I was working for.

Comp-Tac or Ky-Tac. Not sure if the Ky-Tac has been re-designed to meet the latest IDPA regs, but these 2 are very similar. I had a Blade-Tech and it was not as smooth as either of the above.

Excellent info, opinions and support. Thanks everyone :)

The next question, which I should have included in my original request for info is where (preferably in Canada) can I get some of the items (still haven't decided which one, although Kevin B's points seem to be rather attention-grabbing!)

What don't you like about the Blackhawk Serpa? (which I recommend to the thread starter for IPSC but to be honest haven't used anything else) I use it in paddle configuration and the trigger lock is easy to operate in fast draw and gives complete security to the firearm even running, jumping etc. As you draw your index finger lays flat along frame just where you want it.

No! It's from a professional use stand point.

We are playing a game, therefore it's good to go.

Now if yoiu use KevinB's reasoning, you won't be wrong either.

I have had one of each for my Glock and most for my Sig, the Blackhawk holster is my favorite, personally I like the Serpa, but the regualr CQC is good as well. All of the above mentioned are good product, it is basically up to you which one you like best.
