Best Krieger Price

Thanks guys. After a bad experience with my Krieger inquiry, I ordered a Shilen. I am going to rebarrel something to a 6BR and am happy with the fact that Shilen barrels dominate the short range (to 300yds) score shooting game...so says the 6mmbr site. In the end, my post asking for "best prices" accomplished what I wanted ...which included contacts from various barrel sellers with some good ideas and prices. For those of you who may be shopping, I can tell you that the Super Select Shilen I ordered (Shilen US list is $49.00 more than the comparable US Krieger list) ended up costing me about $90.00 Cdn less than the Krieger.

If this is your first 6br, your gonna love it. It is always fun shooting guns, but really, really fun shooting a real accurate gun. When I was developing a load for mine every powder/bullet combo shot .5 moa or better.

Have fun.

Make sure you get it chambered for the no neck turn Lapua brass and use Lapua brass... what a fantastic little round...

I am building myself another one and I am using a 10 twist Shilen #5 contour for a varmint/target rifle in a BDL heavy barrel stock...

Thanks guys, I am pretty new to the rebarreling "money pit"
---at least when I was buying/selling new rifles, I got some cash back when I resold. Now, I want to hold on to the rebarrels so cash only goes one way!
Yes, this will be my first 6BR and I plan to use a reamer with a .272 neck. I like "sporter" configurations so am going with a #4 (magnum sporter contour). I know I have started down a "slippery slope" and suspect before long I will be musing over dedicated benchrest actions and heavy barrels. Lord, I'm weak!
