I love the cheapness of 22lr and have an absolute riot smoking clays at 100 yards. Really liked the cz 452 I had at one point- really like the sako quad but theyre right hand only :(. BUT I am eventually going to be going for rabbit and other tasty critters. This makes me want a gun that I can switch out to 17 hmr maybe? but maybe not....

any suggestions folks?

Buddy, Im a lefty too and refuse to own a right handed bolt action. I'm on the search for a savage 93r17 btvlss...... Not having any luck at this time of year. They also do a GLV version that is much cheaper (synthetic and blued). The GLV is in stock at a few dealers. 17HMR is certainly not as cheap to shoot as a 22 but you wont go poor shooting it either and its a laser.

There is a store in Montreal who would probably have what you are looking for. If interested, I could send you a PM with the contact and address information.

Yeah I just like the idea of having a small, powerful cartridge like that. Just opens up my possibilities if I wanna get into varminting etc etc...

Then again not a real priority- and I hear bad things about the new CZ 455 vs the old one calibre 452

I have a savage 93L17. Wood stock, heavy barrel, acu trigger in 17 HMR. I love this gun. I did pillar bed the action into the stock and have a cheapo Taco 8-24x scope on it. a quarter is a big target at 100 yards and not considered a challenge. Considering their price new ($250), you can buy both a 17 HMR and 22 LR. The 22 in synthetic stock is under $200.

They aren't cheap, but browning makes Lefty T-bolts.

For the lefties here, do you find you have a hard time selling your lefty guns for what you think is fair?

There are an awful lot of guys out there shooting right hand bolts left handed. You gotta figure there are more left shooters than left firearms. I'd think a left handed rifle would move just as fast as a right should one go up for sale.

Why not call savage and see what it will cost to get one made up. It says in their 2012 catalogue that they make custom orders for customers. The rimfires are already built in ontario.

I have a savage 17hmr in left hand. I love this rifle. Its a tack driver when there is no wind. Havent seen what the round will do on a small animals body because everything has been shot in the head.

I think im gonna go for the CZ I was happy with it before and havent heard anything to sway me its good to hear the other options though thanks folks.
