Say guys I've got a bunch of walking coming up in southern Alberta and I want to find me the best light weight boot available, any thoughts, thanks FS

I use the Cabela's Silent Stalk sneaker. I've only had them for a year and a half, but they've held up well so far. I'm happy with them. They are lightweight, waterproof, and I think a good bang for your buck. Perhaps not THE BEST, but I've been on some long walks carrying about 40lbs on my back, and my feet were quite comfy. They're uninsulated, so I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.

I've been very pleased with my Irish Setter Tamaracks. They're more than adequate for all but the absolute coldest days. I had them out last year near the Chain Lakes and we had a particularly cold Saturday where temps were -24 to -26 degrees celcius with a stiff wind. We stuck out the morning and early afternoon, the wind and blowing snow and accompanying poor visibility had us pack it in at about 2 pm, but my feet weren't any the worse for wear. Very comfortable, silent and warm. In fact I find them too warm to wear whenever its above -5. I found mine at Wholesale Sports instead of Red Wing. I also love how easily the laces draw up throught the slick eyelets, very smooth and no need to tighten them incrementally. I'd gone with the Irish Setter brand due to a very big thumbs up from my hunting buddy, he loves his as well. Can't recall his model, but I know he had the 1000 g insulation whereas I went with the 800g. I tend to hunt more actively whereas he has a good few more years on him and he will hold a spot for a better part of the day.
