Best Lightweight Deer Brush Gun

I like the idea of a Ruger 77/44 with a synthetic stock.
Just over 5lbs so very handy.

I can’t find them anywhere and also I am unsure if that 44 will poke out to 150.
I’d still be happy with it even if 100 yards was my cutoff since 90% of the time I can’t see past 75 yards anyways.

That’s easy! The best deer brush gun is the Ruger 44 carbine/deerstalker. Light, handy semiautomatics, can’t beat’em in the thick stuff, especially for pushes or drives. Why you think they’re so expensive! ;)

A 12 gauge. 20” to 24” barrel.
I’m in the same predicament as you.
Meets and exceeds all your needs.
Those 2 3/4’s will plow through the brush and twigs.
Surprisingly accurate too.

Remington 742 chambered in the 30-06 Springfield and 308 Winchester OR double rifle, either over/under or side by side.

OP, sounds like you're going with irons only, yes? Lots of options depending on what you like in a rifle.

Bolt: Any reasonable 16-18" barrel bolt action with a flush-fit magazine, there are lots of lightweight options but iron sights can be hard to find. Shortest/lightest will probably be something like the Zastava M85

Lever: Winchester 1894, 18-20"

Pump: Remington 760/7600 carbine, 18.5"

Semi: Remington 7400 carbine (properly vetted) or for super lightweight, and some of you will love this... KelTec SU16 (again, properly vetted)

Chambering doesn't really matter much if you stick with common rifle cartridges and respect their limits. If you "need" to shoot through brush, then maybe it matters....

Tikka Battue .308 Win.

And there she is mounted with a Bushnell Elite 4500 1-4X24 on a Masi quick detach system (no annoying base left). Lightweight (6.2 lbs. without scope), compact with all the punch I need for deer.

My recommendation as well, having had one.
