Hi, guys my friend got a Browning A-bolt .300 WSM now he is shooting Core-lokt ULtra sirroco bonded.. I told him that we could surely do better by relaoding for his rifle.. But I don't know what kind of pwoder and what kind of bullet.. He want 180gr. and going at 3000 fps and more... It will be principaly to do moose hunting.. Any of you got any hints on waht we could do..

All thanks in advance..

"...going at 3000 fps and more..." That isn't going to happen. Hodgdon data shows max loads for a 180 are just under 3000 fps. So will max loads for Nosler 180's. Pricey bullets though.
You don't need extremely high velocities for moose anyway. How well does your buddy's rifle shoot with the Sirroco's? Accuracy is more important than velocity.

Sure it will happen...

With several 180gn loads for the 300 WSM in the high 2900's on the Hodgdon site, I highly doubt that you will have any trouble at all getting 3000 fps. Especially if the rifle doesn't have a short barrel.

Try 7828, both 4350's and both 4831's.

There's lots of load data on the Hodgdon website: http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp

It is often possible to exceed max published velocities. Just be careful and work the load up.

As for bullet type, the Nosler Accubond has been an excellent hunting bullet for me, both for accuracy and terminal performance.

I get over 3K in my Vanguard 24" barrel, using Norma MRP with the 180 Partition. Absolutely NO excess pressure signs and accurate as can be. Eagleye.
