Very nice! That looks sharp!

I decided to buy my dream gun on dec 25th (aka Christmas day!). It's still backordered, so hopefully it will be on it's way soon. I hope I don't die today or tomorrow - before I get a chance to fire it!
It's the Sig Sauer P226 Equinox in .40 S&W
I have fired quite a few different sig pistols, but have never owned one. I found them very easy to shoot and the quality was excellent.
There are so many different models, so it was difficult deciding which to get.
I have always loved the equinox since the first time I saw that style.

Mine will come with the wood grips. I might keep those, or change them to the E2 grips. I'll decide when I receive the pistol.
What I really like, but haven't seen here in Canada is the equinox with the dark wood grips. Like this:

Very nice. I prefer the factory (or even better, Nill) wood grips over the E2s by a large margin. I have average hands and while the E2s made that 1st double action pull easier to reach they were not as comfortable for me. I'm likely in the minority, but try the E2s on another gun before springing for them as they are over a 100 these days.

I have a Sig P220 Equinox and love it. (Page 39) The wood grips are beautiful but both me and the previous owner found them too slippery. I changed them out for Houge wraparound grips with the finger grooves and my groupings definitely improved. The Hogues also absorb some recoil, making me flinch less.

This is a beautifull handgun, i am on the verge of ordering a Model 69, can you tell me were you bought those grips... JP.

On Ebay! A guy builds them with local wood in Thailand, if not mistaken. The fit is perfect and I paid $30. It's a nice, hard wood, well suited for the purpose. Don't ask me what type of wood it is though.. I forgot because I'd never heard of it before.

On the top, S&W 627 Performance Center, 5", 8-Shot 357MAG, Bottom, S&W 629 4.2" Canadian Edition, 6-Shot 44MAG.

Pretty impressive for a 63 year old gun eh? Just picked up another colt, this one's a 38 special National Match from around 1973 and although the blueing isn't quite as impressive I am just so amazed at how well these old colts are put together.
