Best LPVO under $1000????

Definitely following this thread, wanting a similar optic for my Ruger American Ranch in 223. Something that offers quick shots on the lower magnification range but also dial it up for a shot out to 400-500 yards on coyotes and other varmints.
I run a 3-9x40 Trijicon accupoint (Green dot) on mine and I think it is about perfect for that rifle.

I just picked up a vortex siren lpvo at a great price for my lever action. Will report back soon when I take it to the range in a few weeks

I spent a lot of time researching scopes and reticles. I was wary to go 1x8 or 1x10 because of clarity at max zoom.
I ended up ordering a Primary arms SLX 1-6x24 with the Nova fiber wire reticle. I like the idea of the red dot bright dot for up close speed, and the 6x to stretch out to longer range. I'll put it on my .223 to play around for now, and then my .308 when I get it.

There are big penalties to pay for the 1x tax, and for hunting... not a lot to gain. Closer shots, even with 3x on the low end, at hunting distances, aren't a big deal. 800 yards with a 6x... well that's more of a "that direction" optic... especially swimming through 6x magnification. LPVO's always weigh more than a more capable MPVO. A Vortex (wretch) Strike Eagle 1-6x weights 19.5oz. A Leupold 3.5-10x... 14.5oz or 1oz more for the illuminated version.

Good choice. I have one and it’s pretty nice for the price point.

best lpvo
1-8 or 1-10 with elev turret and parallax adjustment, bdc or multi-dot reticle, fire dot IR or floating dot .......?

~$300 CVLife ticks some, cheap enough for entertainment, others brands take over $1k for the best features

edit- just found a Hawke 1-8x24 that looks good too

I actually got to look through a SCORPION OPTICS VENOM MAX 1-6X24 IR LVPO and was amazed at the quality of glass. I guess the new owners are really making some upgrades from the "old" Scorpion lines. Put it on my 223 and am pleased thus far. Picked it up for $450 used and it's way clearer than my retired Strike Eagle. I only shoot to 200 yards though. For my aging eyes, a 400 yard scope would be more like a 2.5-10 / 4-12 with a min 30mm tube.

I hate to keep flogging this dead horse, but this has been my best lpvo purchase, at a 1/4 of the price of others that I’ve owned. Edge to edge clarity, not too heavy, IR, SFP, good reticle, lifetime warranty.

I’d love to hear someone else’s experience with this model, NOT the FFP ED model - I didn’t like that optic.

I paid $176 shipped to my door 🤷

A 3-9x is a very good all around choice for a variable scope.
I have several 1-4x scopes and rarely mive them off 4x, I have killed three deer inside 12 yards in falling lightning 4x with no issues, but when I do turn tge scopes down low, my front sight is seen and it is aggravating.
My longest kill with a 1.5- 4x is 372 yards, but a little bit more magnification would not have hurt .
I hunted for years with fixed 6x and 8x scopes with no worries on close range shots.

Good choice.
Reticle selection is a key consideration and can be overwhelming given all the choices.

The Vector Constantine scope lineup has some similar fiber dot scopes in their lineup.

Even if you decide to move on to another scope with more power a good LPVO options is nice for typical shorter range hunting and reactive target shooting.
