Best m14 mags

Just purchased a DA M14 which has had some upgrades put into it (USGI bolt, USGI barrel, spring upgrades, etc...). Wondering what the best m14 mag is from everybody's experience.

Check-mate industries CMI, the 10 round Elander AIA are very well made as well. The Norc ones are fine, I have had quite a few problems with KCI.

Believe it or not, the standard Norc mags are very good as long as they aren't pinned too tight.

Depending on the rifle and the particular mag, I've seen some of the e-lander AIA mags result in stove piping due to the front of the mag slipping. This seems to be a relatively rare situation.
 
Not trying to sound like a smart ass, but in my experience the best magazine that you can buy is the one that works properly in your M305 regardless of who makes it.
 
The OEM 5/10 Springfield Amory and E-lander AIA 10/10 have worked flawlessly in my SOCOM16. I just ordered a 5/20 CMI from Dlask…

Yes, you are correct, but that doesn't help a new gun owner to pick up some reliable mags when he doesn't know which ones are good or bad.
 
I love the black European made ones that were sold by Corwin Arms. I managed to get one when I bought the rifle and it functioned great and is really nice quality. I bought 2 when Corwin Arms still had them for sale (hopefully they will again in the future), then I bought another at a gun show. For any local Vancouver members, check out the hacs gun show. The guy who has the bench with magwedge products carries these mags

I am happy with mine for sure, I forgot one on the back of my 1 ton truck while shooting in a gravel pit and drove over it with both driver side tires. I'm still using it without issue. If it ever fails I have 11 more to replace it.
 
Am I the only one that his norc mags can fit 6 in? I need to force it down and when you shake it with 6 rounds something is rattling at the bottom of the mag.
 
My whole point was that the best mag is the one that works in your rifle. You can have a mag made by Springfield and it will not operate correctly while U could have a ChiCom el chepo that works flawless. It all depends on your weapon Voodoo and if the planets are all lined up correctly. Even the various US Marine Corps rifle teams try out mags before a shoot.Some just shoot better than others for some unknown reason that only the shooting gods understand, some will not cycle at all while others have occasional stoppages.

I still have a few of the Euro contract mags available on the website, as well as a few CMI (Checkmate Industries). I think that the CMI are probably some of the best you can get and are made in the US.

Note that the HACS gunshow is now held in Chilliwack at Evergreen Hall, 9291 Corbould St.

Tomorrow, Jan 11 is the next show.

I have not had any magazines fail on me and they are a mix of USGI and SAI.

I realize that the AIA mags fit and function in an M14. While it's perfectly legal to have them I wouldn't want to be the guy who was caught shooting his M14 with them. I wouldn't assume that you can have 10 rounds in the rifle regardless of the original application intended by the magazine manufacturer. To my knowledge the firearms act makes no exception to the 5 round limit for these rifles. So if you do have them on your person you might want to have a rifle with them that they were designed for. Something to think about.
