Best magazine to get???

For me it's Shooting Sportsman, Gray's Sporting Journal, Double Gun Journal, Upland Alamnac, Pointing Dog Journal, Waterfowl and any number of Fly Fishing/Fly Tying publications, from month to month, dependant on their individual content.

Ontario out of Doors and Rifle magazine. Every other magazine i've found is littered with deer bow hunt strategies and such (nothing wrong wit0h that of course but not my cup of tea).

UA, PDJ I still subscribe to. I dropped Gray's because they started sending me renewal notices before I even had my second issue. The NAVHDA rag isn't bad - at least it's real.

I once bought a "Shooting Times" from an airport news stand. The 150 000£ ads for the matched pairs of Boss SxS's are fun to show the wife - brings perspective to my piddly budget firearms budget.

Big Buck is great to have next to the can. The articles are just long enough to occupy me during a constitutional.

Rifle and Handloader were the two to beat but, as Gatehouse has said, since John Barsness left they have slid some. I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I will resubscribe. Sports Afield is the best magazine on the market today and another I really enjopy is African Outfitter, published out of South Africa. It's a very good read and it's nice to get things from a non-US perspective.

My favorite was Big Game Adventures...but I'm not sure if they will ever put out another issue, I used to read them cover to cover.

'rifle.

A great magazine until the new owner turned it into "Big Game Canned Hunting"

Then he got charged by a ranch bison and gave up hunting.

It kinda disappeared shortly after that. I did like it but way too much shooting behind wire for my liking.

Still that ranch bison could have killed him. They're scary y'know!

I subscribe to Newfoundland Sportsman, get Canada's Outdoor Sportsman Magazine as part of my NFA Membership (along with Canadian Firearms Journal), Shooting Times, Handloader, and North American Hunt Club magazine. (I know a lot of guys hate NAHC, but I actually like the mag...go figure!:))

I used to subscribe to Rifle, Peterson's Rifle Shooter, Peterson's Hunting, G&A & Guns.

Most of the mainstream mags are sliding. I won't be renewing Shooting Times, I'm still undecided about Handloader. Might just pick it up on the newsstand. I get a Newfoundland Sportsman Mag subscription for Xmas every year.

Rifle, Hunting, G&A, Shooting Times are shadows of their former selves.

I've got several copies kicking around that I haven't even read yet and I've had 'em for weeks!
