Best magazines for 1911's with magwells?

I have a 1911 that I installed an Ed Brown magwell on(looks great and functions better), but the mags I have that don't have extended baseplates, are a pain to load. I'm in the market for more new mags, so what works best with 1911's with enhanced magwells?

I saw some Wilson-rogers 8-rd magazines on Brownells but cant tell if the are long enough.
 
I don't think the mags have to be especially long. I like the Mec-Gar 8-round mags. MarStar has them.

They protrude just enough to make a very positive lockup when they are shoved home, but not so much that they get in the way of anything else...

I like Cobra mags for calibres other than .45 ACP. For .45 ACP, Wilson ETMs are the way to go!
 
Just be careful with your research and/or selection. I found out the hard way that not all mags & more importantly base plates are the same and some just do not work with others. When I bought my Wilson Combat speed chute I installed it in my sport model norc 1911. I went and bought some mags from Dlask. They were a good price and I didn't find any real bad reviews of them. I get them in the mail, open the package grab one mag and go to ram it up into the norc and it stops about 2mm short of stopping and engaging the mag release. I check and the base plate design is just different enough that it won't fit. No worries I think. I pull out the dremel and what I figured would be a 10 minute job ended up taking an hour and I had to remove maybe 60% of the material to make it fit. Long story short. I sold the rest of the mags and bought some Wilson mags to make it work properly. So be careful.
 
I have a para, and have bought Dlask, chip McCormick, and Tripp maggs.... Chip mags (starline... Base model) sucked balls and the follower slid forward on last round a would force the slide release to shift, causing a jam. Chip told me my pistol was junk and nothing could possibly be wrong with their mags.

Bought Dlask..... Built solid and function well for what I do.. Usually buy a fist full if I see them on a rack..

Tripp.... Bought them from northern republic because I wanted to experiment with 10rnd mags... By far the best mag I've used so far. Solid and smooth function...
 
i picked up a bunch of Dlask mags both stainless and the regular ones.
i have yet to have a problem with them, run them in Norcs, Rugers, Kimbers and SAMs, some with magwells some without.
they are made in Italy and look identical to my ACT mags so im pretty sure thats who makes them for Dlask.

and ACT mags, i have a bunch of those as well and have never had a problem with them.

until such a time as i run into a problem with these ill keep using them and saving money.
 
I just want to make sure everyone knows I did not mean to slander Dlask mags. I didn't even get a chance to try them in my 1911. I sold them because of the incompatible base pads.
