Best MATCH ammo with 10/22

Eley Contact!!

I just built a Dlask variant, love it!
I shot a BR100 m match with it and Eley Contact.., shot 6 targets 10 rounds per .
4 of tgem were in the 90’s .
Lapua Centerx does well too.

Of course every .22 rifle is different, but my Dlask/Kidd 10/22 will shoot 1/4" - 1/2" groups at 50 yds with Eley Tenex, however it is so expensive that I rarely use it. I can achieve 1/2" - 5/8" groups with SK Rifle Match, which is much more affordable. Most of the time I use CCI Standard Velocity - this gives me pretty good accuracy at an affordable price ( 1/2"-3/4" groups).

Hey guys ,

Was wondering what exact type of MATCH ammo was working best in your 10/22. I know that one riffle could work better with one or another company or type of ammo but would like to know you guys experience with it.

Thanks a lot !

Jules

with the one i have (which is getting the walking papers) every thing was tried in it (every round cabelas had on the shelf) and Remington yellow jackets seem to work the best, however my Trapper neighbor has the Exact same one (less serial number and scope) and he has to use CCI standard Vels in his. We even tried to mix a couple in the magazine and jam up every time... mine is out the gate doin 98 worst 22 i have ever owned....yet the pistols are a different story

It's not quite the same but in my Hammerli Model 150 I used to use SK Standard Plus. Until I tried SK Rifle Match was often better accuracywise.
Also tried Federal standard velocity in the blue box as in between match practice ammo. Found it to be a barely adequate round for 25 meters and outright terrible accuracy at 50 meters. I literally gave away that Federal ammunition.

Mine likes Eley Sport out to 400m (No that isn't a typo), and just loves it at 25m (produced a 10 round group with .440 outside to outside edge, or a .220 center to center). Eley Edge and Match were better for the long distance stuff but I couldn't justify the cost at the time. It absolutely hated Eley Force... some say "It's the .338 of Rimfire" and I have seen people prove that in their rifles, but in my rifle its the "Buck shot simulator of rimfire". Works good in one of my bolt guns though. All the CCI stuff (that I could get my hands on) was just average.

I was out last week with my Shultz & Larsen fitted with a Hawke/ Anchutz 12x scope and was VERY surprised to find that CCI Standard Velocity ammo outshot SK Rifle Match by a large degree at 100M. I also had some Federal Auto Match on hand and found that it was all over the place.
Having said that, I normally shoot the SK ammo at Smallbore matches and have had clean (100 pt) targets with it, but the average is 97.
I'll be trying the CCI stuff for matches come the fall!
I try to use CCI standard it gives me consistent results, RWS is also good for my CZ's

I used SK Standard Plus with pretty good results in my 10/22's but i've recently moved on to Biathlon Sport, which it likes even better.

I have a bone stock 1022 with slim tapered barrel. Eley Club shoots regularly 0.75"- 1" 5-shot groups at 50m in this rifle with the odd 0.5" group. I don't expect the same accuracy as my Anschutz and I'm quite pleased with the accuracy as it is. CCI Blazers shoot around 1" at 50m. This is using a bipod and rear bag and a scope set to 5X.

Don't sell that rifle! Stock 10/22 barrels generally shoot much worse that that in my expereince.

My 10/22 (DAR 22 receiver+Kidd single stage trigger+ TacSol bull barrel+Magpul X22 stock) loves CCI SV ammo, and it is sometime at lowest $3.1 per box plus tax in my LGS. Average achieves between 0.45-0.80 moa at 50 yd with 5 shot group. I cannot be happier with this combination.

May change to Kidd barrel later try to join the half moa club
