I know the rules state "permanently" converted to 10 rounds max.

How do most gunsmiths/gun owners pin their high capacity pistol magazines to the allowed 10 shots?

Do they use a brass pin and peen it over on both ends and then grind down to clear the receiver? Or maybe steel pin (what diameter) and brazed or welded? Is locktite allowed?

What if the mag has a plastic follower? Doesn't the welding or brazing damage the spring?

Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

The ones I have seen usually have either a dimple punched into the mag or a very short
rivet popped in. The idea being to stop the follower from going all the way down and limiting it
to only go down just enough for 10 cartridges.

Depends on the type of magazine and what type of follower they have. Some its easier to put a pop rivet in the proper spot. Others I put a rod in the follower and epoxy in place. Others need a steel pin through into a blind hole to prevent removal....
