Best mid-high budget brands?

Hey guys, long time Vortex Fanboy... even bought the T-shirt!

After this past year they have lost my loyalty and won’t be getting it back.

I am looking right now for a 1-6 or 1-8 and possibly a fixed 4-5x optic. However I’m most interested in brand then soecific optic as I will be needing more in the future.

My typical optic budget is 1-2K depending what it’s going on... heard good things about nightforce and the glass looks amazing but in the 2500-3k new range is more then I would like to invest in one optic, however could be convinced if it is really worth it.

Owned everything vortex has outside of the new AMG series, their prices keep rising and customer service has gone to the dogs. Hard to move on but it’s time I put on my adult shooting pants and stop fooling around with the hot girl, that looks like a train wreck when you remove the beer (fan boy) goggles.
 
For hunting optics my vote goes to Swarovski Z3 and Z5 lines. I really like them and most of my rifles have either the older Habitat or the current Z3 3-10X.

I still like the Leupold VX2 and VX3 lines and direct new shooters towards these optics due to quality and price.

For target shooting I still favour the Leupold Mark 4s, but lately I am drawn towards the Nightforce optics.

My AR10 (6.5 creed) will mostly be used as a yote gun/farm Defense max 400yards and mostly 100-200y need something I can hold over or dial in if static hunting, but also something I can snap shoot at a yote trotting across the field.

Never knew Sightron made a 1-7 only ever seen their competition stuff from mystic on here.
 
maybe the 1-8.5 bushnell SMRS w/34MM tube? The high end bushnell stuff isn't bad. It's not quite nightforce, but more in your price range
 
Have a look at the options from Athlon.. They have really impressed me with their features, function vs price point.

That Sightron was definitely a great scope but has been discontinued. Not sure why it is still on their website???? maybe they are going to reintroduce it????

Does anyone have exp with Leupold VX6 or mark 6 couple great deals came up but never had a chance to look through one?

I actually gave this one a lot of consideration, the main issues I kept hearing was the retical is a full one moa dot and slight bleed of illumination on the outside box. This causes slot of issues past 4x for tracking or dialing shots on small (and large game) do to the dot covering more than the animal or plate itself.

Nightforce agreed this was an unforeseen issues and the next model ($3500) they fixed it going to 1/4 moa center dot.
 
Missed out on some great EE deals this week....

NX8 going for 1800 shipped and an accupower 1-8 with $250 American Defense mount for $1500 (and a few guns too) even with I’ll take it in the headline still got beat to them all lol.

Any last suggestions? Gonna need something soon have some crazy Yote tracks all over my propperty right now.

I'm looking for an optic as well and I decided to go with the mark 6. Its much lighter than accupower 1-8. Garand Thumb on youtube mentioned that the glass is good and only losses out a little bit compared to ATACR 1-8.

You mentioned you saw a great deal on the mark 6? Mind PMing me about it?
 
If you check out a variety of different sites right now there are some good deals on Nightforce. Hirsch Precision and Prophet River have the NXS 2-10× 32or42 on for 1700-2000 down from 2350-2500
 
Thanks I know prophet well didn’t know the other carried NF I’ll have a look... no one seems to have the NX8 and the only one on EE is going for $2200 missed the one that was 1800... so hard to pick all have such different +\- to them.

Vulchering EE this whole weekend looking for a great optic or stag 10 deal but non came up lol
