Best model of 10-22

Which 10-22 model is the best bang for the buck. Are the target models worth the extra $$ for the Ruger Bull B.? is the stainless version any better then the blued ? Are any of the stocks available worth keeping ? I think you get my point.
 
If you want something utilitarian grab a SS\syn. If your going to build a range queen model is irrelevant, all you need is the receiver.
 
I bought a blued 10/22T from Frontier (like above in the ads), was a sweet deal and was tired of looking at what one to buy. It is rather nice.
 
I like the T model as well, but I read one post that said the barrel is not that good and one would be better off with an after market barrel. Have you noticed anything like that or was it heresay ?
 
Actually yes. I am certain it is my scope rings that caused the problem I haven't gotten out yet to check it. Was getting shots down and to the right with maxed out up and to the left on the scope. Old scope rings didn't seem to mount properly so I got new ones to try. Other than that it was shooting 2 inch groups easily with cheap ammo at 50yards.
 
Anyone know anything about the ###y looking 'hammer forged' target barrels on some of the 10-22's? Anygood? Are they an option or what? Still available?
