Best Moose Caliber

Almost anything works as long as it's accurate and penetrates.A buddies daughter shot her 1st moose last week with a CZ527 in 7.62x39 123gr SP PRIVI handload.
 
I'm fairly new to moose hunting. Only killed 5 so far. Used a different rifle each time, muzzleloader, 7mm rm, 7mm-08 and 2 different 308s. They all worked just dandy but I do use premium bullets. The bull i killed with the 7-08 needed 2 shots but that wasn't the rifles fault. I recently picked up a 338 rcm which I think I will use next fall mostly because I like the rifle more than the chambering. Compact m77 hawkeye with vx2 2-7×33. Should be a really nice for moose in the bush.
