Best/Most effective AR compensator

I know there are a lot of nice and expensive ones out there..but does anyone know what the most effective style or make of compensator is?

I compared an EGW brake with my PWS this weekend... they offer very similar performance, and the EGW is half the cost.

Nordic Components

I bought two of the Nordic Components Tactical Compensators (about the size of a standard AR flash-hider - the same comp that comes on the new STI AR's) from Cactus Tactical down in the States, and have really liked them I found they really worked well on my 10.5" and 16" rifles. I don't know if they're available from any of the site sponsors...?

You got that right for those on a budget Surefire is great also, try combining it with an Enidine Hydraulic Recoil Buffer for the best of both worlds.

Have tried Miculek, PWS FSC556, JP/Bennie Colley tactical, and SJC Titan compensators on my AR, the Titan had the best performance. I'd have to say the PWS looked better if you are concerned about such things as many AR owners seem to be.

its a old pic, when it was still brand new. the thing is a bit darker/dirtier now as its the only long gun I shoot.

Honestly, with our regs here, I dont see it ever turning very dark (like Costas on Magpul Dynamics) as the inconel TT simply wont get hot enough to oxidize with our SA 5rd Mags. If it were legal for us to own 30rd mags, full auto and a can like they do down south, and i bet it would get hot enough to darken up real quick.

Ive tried about 8 and so far I like the PWS FSC556 best for muzzle control and flash hiding, second best for me is the Troy midevil FH.

Id try a KAC but I cant justify the price for what i do with it, to bad KAC doesnt make it out of plain steel instead of space metal.
