Best/Most effective AR compensator

as a Muzzle break? Definitely dont see why not.

As a sacrificial baffle for the KAC cans? Probably, and thats why they painstainkingly machine them, hence the price reflects it. Ask KevinB if you must know about matl selection and manufacturing process.

As for a Steel one? I'd jump on one if they are available.

Would I buy another inconel one if one becomes available? Bet your ass I would.

enjoy your $700 flash-do-nothing-ator.

The OP asked for the "best" and "most effective" having tried just about all of them out there this one delivers the mail ...I suppose if the post had said "which one does a guy with limited street cred" think is the best then your reply would be valid ...if I was a single guy I would one of those on each of my guns ...

We have made steel versions, however the primary customer of these brakes wish NT-4 compatibility.

Steel will not survive under the suppressor.

Inconel is expensive - both to buy and to machine.

Other than all the fanboys posting and continually reposting that "everyone knows" the KAC is the best. Has there been a single independant test of these things? Can anyone point to a single bit of factual evidence that a $750 muzzle brake offers better performance than a $100 brake?

I'm not talking about what your brother's cousin felt was the better brake but an actual reproducible, pseudo scientific test that can quantify the recoil reduction value.

Even IF the TT does offer better performance than the currently available does a small improvement in recoil reduction really justify a 700% price increase? That strikes me as an expensive way to lord it over the rest of us just how cool your rifle really is and how much like Costa you must be to use the same equipment ..... :(

The design of Triple Trap disperses the gas in all directions -unlike most brakes with 2 to 4 ports, which directed the blast to two sides. THe surefire brake kicks up a sand storm on the ground.

It is a muzzle brake - there is no need to use inconel. KAC should just make a steel version for regular use without suppressor.

imageine horror if they find out $16 usgi birdcage flash hider does the same thing.

The A2 is a flash hider not a muzzle brake so it doesn't do the same thing. However I'd bet the TT isn't a very good flash hider.

If you look closely there are no slots on the bottom of the TT.

Here's my totally unqualified opinion, based on having observed KAC from a distance, since they built the coolest revolver I've ever seen (about 20 years). They manufacture products that fit a particular niche, or requirement. They know their market, their market is not primarily guys shooting AR's on the back 40 (in the US) or at the range (in Canada). If guys shooting AR's buy their stuff, great, but they'll be buying KAC stuff, not inferior or watered down (for the niche) stuff marked KAC. They sell pretty much everything they can produce. They sell it all at a profit. Is the stuff good, you bet. As a civillian do you absotively, posilutetly need it - no. Does anyone at KAC loose sleep at night because DPMS sells more AR 15's or EGW sells more breaks.....

Don't say I didn't warn you that my opinion was unqualified, after all, it is just an opinion and we all know about those.

How about a nice Canadian made muzzle brake. Designed and built by Canadians and sold by a Canadian company for use by Canadian shooters. It is as good as anything built anywhere else. We know that cause we tested it against the best.

Kevin,

Have you guys got any in stock right now? I'd like to get one, and Questar lists them as a 6 to 8 week delivery.

Brad:

Sorry about that... we've been so busy the past month or so we have missed updating the website on a few items that have been arriving. The triple taps are in stock... website has just been updated.

My apologies.

Mark

Would one that blasts up not be the best because it would force the muzzle down?

p.s Thanks for the input guys :D
