Best Mount for Comp M2?

I recently received a Comp M2 with Aimpoint QRP mount. I'm not impressed with the mount as it loosened on my AR after about 40 rounds. The QRP has a split shaft on the tightening knob, which keeps you from overtorqueing it. Coincidentally it doesn't allow you to tighten it enough.

I intend to use the Comp M2 on my flattop and on a railed 870. Should I go with a quality QD mount like the ARMS 68 or would I be better off with a heavy duty 30mm ring like a Badger Tactical or Burris XTR?

Suggestions please!

A good QD mount is a must when using optics,go with the ARMS or equalavent

Will the ARMS be solid enough for the recoil of the 870?

Plenty strong enough !

If it can withstand the recoil of my AK on full auto and keep my aimpoint zeroed, it should be good enough !

Larue is the best, but hard to find. Arms comes in at a close second.

If the Aimpoint QRP is good enough for the US Army, it's good enough for me. I'm puzzled as to why this mount is so unpopular, your example seems to have been defective... It's a very solid mount.

I agree, it is a solid mount, if it doesn't loosen itself off. However, with the design of the QRP, I could not tighten it enough to prevent it loosening. Doesn't matter how solid the mount is if it comes loose.

It's brand new and works like it's supposed to, no apparent defects.

Stevo...the ARMS mount should be fine for your Aimpoint...I use it on my M-305 and it takes the recoil just fine.
