Best Muzzle Brake for CZ 858

Even with a brake the CZ still is reasonable to me. The m14 with a brake on the other hand is far less fun to be standing beside.

I had a buddy shoot my rifle tonight while I stood about 6 feet to the side and a couple of feet rearward of the muzzle. I was quite surprised that it didn't seem any louder than when shooting the gun.

Here is another Brake. Works great, easily punch out the center of a target at 25M with little movement of the rifle.. You can see a little bit of thread showing, it won't complete another full turn. It stops short of locking in.

file the back of the brake until it completes the last turn.

Urban_Ops, sweet looking rig. Where did you get your Galil style flash suppressor? I have to have one! :D

I took a standard VZ nut and turned the O.D. down to press fit inside a Galil flash suppressor that I bored out, then a nice GTAW to permanently lock them together. A small slot with a 1/8" endmill for the detent. Finally finished with parkerize.
Only takes a little longer than it takes to explain it :)

Nice but I don't think a flash hidder works that great as a device for controlling muzzle rise :p
But damm that looks nice ;)

Thanks UrbanOps I'm definitely going to try that.

I have the standard CZ break and im happy with it (Wolverine Supplies).

Ill have a vid up on youtube (CanadianReich) where ill post rapid fire (6 rounds at a time lol) -on target- with and without the CZ break.

yeah, im curious too, break out the stop watch etc.

may as well camcorder it and put it on youtube when i do it.

wont be for awhile thou, ATT ran out and my CZ is restricted so its grounded at home till the new papers come.

Check out DLASK. They have 5 different types (Breaks, Comps and Flash suppressors) for the VZ 58 and they are Canadian made as well.
Clobbersauras you know every time you post it cost's me money :p
Just got this for my shorty VZ 58 project.

Can't wait for the transfer to go threw w:h:

In my honest opinion the Dlask A6 is the best performing brake for the VZ. The NEA Heavy brake would be second. We have a Brake in manufacturing that I believe to be the best, but it's a month out.

Depending on what you want the brake for.. But the A6 is excellent at keeping your barrel on target when tapping. Our new Brake is designed to accomplish the best muzzle stability plus incorporates a few other design objectives with the military specifically in mind.

I have no experience using a break... I have read on other sites that the cz factory break works quit well... And price will come into play here. The dlask breaks are more then I want to spend... it has to be below the $50 range + taxes.

I have no experience using a muzzle break other than on my .270 WSM bolt action deer rifle. Its not needed for when I'm hunting - most of the time hunters don't feel the recoil in the heat of the chase - its more to dampen the recoil when on the bench sighting in and practicing different shooting positions. In this application the .270 WSM will beat up your shoulder and you may develop a flinch and that can affect your shot when hunting.

I have a Krinkov flash hider on my 858-4V only for the LCF - I'm not going to give away my position in a firefight cause there never will be a firefight (and if there was my 858 would not be the weapon of choice).

So why a muzzle break on a CZ 858? I asked this on another muzzle break thread. IMHO the 7.62x39mm when used in a CZ 858 does not warrant any muzzle break - it just doesn't recoil enough. Muzzle control was mentioned but this is not a bench rifle; and punching paper - I had 2.5" to 3" groups at 50 yards shooting offhand while using a red dot. This is fine for carbine matches.

Muzzle control IS the only reason.. Recoil is very manageable, but the muzzle rise when firing in quick succession is less than desirable. A good brake will help you keep on target when training or competing.
