Best Muzzle Brake for CZ 858

I've put about 600 rounds through my NEA heavy brake. It does improve control and is a good value.

I do have a couple of complaints about it though. It has a tendency to send hot, unburned powder to either side of the shooter. The shock wave is annoying, but not disturbing like the smith brake on the m14. The smith brake, on the m14 does not seem to send unburned powder to the sides.

It does not add much additional length to the cz858, and it's profile is not likely to become hung up on stuff.

I just like my Dlask AKM style brake, it might not be as effective as a more elaborate brake when it comes to reducing muzzle jump, nor as effective at reducing flash as a dedicated flash suppressor, but it does a surprisingly good job at both tasks and doesn't present any cleaning issues nor does it really punish anyone with funnelled blast.

I run mine level instead of canted to the right since the VZ doesn't push to the right like the AK does.

That's because the break is working. With the thread protector most of the propellant gas and any unburnt powder would be forced more downrange than with a break.

With any type of break the holes/vents/whatever in the side of the break are designed to quickly vent propellant gas and any unburnt powder out the sides quickly cooling and dissipating the gas. That's why you may be getting residue on your table top.

In my honest opinion the Dlask A6 is the best performing brake for the VZ. The NEA Heavy brake would be second. We have a Brake in manufacturing that I believe to be the best, but it's a month out.

Depending on what you want the brake for.. But the A6 is excellent at keeping your barrel on target when tapping. Our new Brake is designed to accomplish the best muzzle stability plus incorporates a few other design objectives with the military specifically in mind.

Our new ones? No they're slated off the machines at the end of the month. They are coming out with our AR brake and it's just finished up final 3rd party testing. End of the month back, another week or so to plate and make it to packaging. All said - probably early-mid Nov before they're in dealers hands.

I have a early model. It's an excellent flash suppressor that softens the recoil a little bit. Apparently the new versions have a larger bored out volume on the inside so there's more surface area at the muzzle end. That should increase it's effectiveness as a brake.
