Wow, you didn't have it long... Too bad. These are my sasquatch hands right here, my palm is almost as wide as the whole pistol. Yes, it's only a tokarev, but you get the picture. I like big grips. This tiny one on the TT33 is making me nervous: My CZ97 had a huge and fat grip, I liked it, but hated the pistol.

Wouldn't say "it's the best" but here's one I picked up from the family from a shooting buddies estate. S&W 4506.

It's not an item I was specifically looking for but I purchased it from the family more for its significance as a momento of my friend.

Thought you were loving the USP? Not sure if anyone warned you, but the 9 or 40 USP is Large, the 45 USP is very large and the HK Mark 23 is Desert Eagle huge... .

HK makes some great pistols but they make some lemons too: A 45 ACP pistol that is the size of a M4? Try the Mark 23. (hyperbole of course). But HK seems to be willing to take risks and develop new products. which is a good thing. USP too blocky? try the p2000. p2000 didn't quite work? try the HK p30.

I think you'll be more than happy with the accuracy too. Those pistols are absolute tack drivers.

I have large hands, every pistol works for me. It's the overly small grips that I have problems with.

The truth be known:redface:, I haven't put in any serious effort with it,;)yet. Initially after I acquired it, I ran a bit of ammo through it, just to make sure it would go bang. Then at one of the last gun shows in Duncan, I picked up two extra mags for it. I'll have to get it out soon and scare the spiders out of the barrel:p.

Nice looking pistol John. Seems to have seen little use. I shot the 459 many moons ago, this definitely looks better. :)

It's in almost like new condition and from what I've been able to determine, he didn't use it very much.

Just prior to acquiring the 4506, I purchased another 45ACP from an acquaintance in town. A mutual friend, George King, was a gentleman I did a fair amount of bullseye shooting with at the Naniamo club. He had retired as a tool and die maker in England and after he moved to Canada, he took up handgun shooting. In addition, his trade skills lined up well with a new interest. Gunsmithing, for which he was fairly well known for in the central Island area. From this acquaintance, I acquired Georges personal accurized 1911, just because it was Georges.

And now, I have a 4th 4th 45ACP lined up. A top end Kimber. Forgot to mention, there's also a SS 4 5/8" Ruger convertable 45LC/45ACP in the collection.

I guess the "HK45 Group Buy Poll" thread is against the rules as it's been taken down twice now... Sorry fellas. We had 28 people say "Yes" and some wanted more than 1. There definitely is an interest.

Against the rules as no one asked forum head permission...even tho is was stated it was NEEDED many times and was the reason why the first one was locked.

I gotta say if someone cannot read and/or doesn't see something like that then many people will lose faith in them for doing a bigger task such as properly setting up a group buy with a DEALER...being overly and unnecessarily cryptic, poor grammar and next to no CGN creed didn't help this either lol.

I am lucky enough to have an HK45 and I adore it...BUT they are not as hard to get as people think, import it yourself and you will get it around the same price they sell for new here ($1,399 plus taxes). Even if you have to pay a bit more your still getting one NEW and for cheaper then USED ones are currently going for on the EE. Like anything else in life you need to pay to play especially when what you want to play with isn't as common as buddy's Glock!!!

I could always swing across the border then get a company to import for me. Not a huge deal, I guess. I live 5 minutes from Detroit, MI.

The OP of the "group buy" thread was just trying to help. I don't think everyone on this board wants people to break the "distribution chain" and go to the 'grey market' (or at least advertise that they will do it in a group buy).

I understand he was trying to help people get hard to find HKs but it could have been handled a bit better IMO,

Its not a grey market. You either have a pistol legally or not in Canada...when getting one imported from BGC it is registered here in Canada and therefore there is nothing "grey" about it.

Importing yourself a firearm that isn't available here (but is legal) has been called "Grey Market" on this forum. Not sure if this is the right term, but it's what I have read. It is possible that the warranty is null and void, therefore I think it is the correct term.

Every legally owned pistol is registered here, that's not the issue. It's where the pistol was purchased from that is the issue, I believe. Imported by a non-dealer... I guess HK USA doesn't want their HK45's in Canada for some reason (and they don't ship from Germany as far as I know). I am sure this is the main issue. They are not importing them.

This is not important, but at least people know that they are available and at a reasonable price.

Not wanting their product in a country is different then a law prohibiting its export as well as they are not illegal to own in Canada. Nothing is grey.
