Best non-clip fed semi?

First off they're not CLIPS they're magazines. Second, a "barrel magazine" is called a tubular magazine, which is a fixed or non detachable magazine.

Some people call the "barrel magazines", and some COMPANIES call them
"clips" .
It doesn't matter what you call them, they do the same thing.
this isn't the Queen's English, and I will bet in about 5 years you will see
"clip" in Webster's pertaiing to the same thing a "magazine" does, which BTW ,
is also capable of holding large amounts of ordance, BP, and other such stuff!

Lighten up a little guys, it's an internet forum, not English class!
Heck, I even catch myself sometimes calling my rifles " guns"!

I remember talking to an old vet about the german MP-40 and he called it a "schmiesser". Hugo schmiesser wasn't the designer but tell any veteran that and see how much they really care.
As for calling someones wife a #####.......hope you have dental coverage.

Anyways...

In my opinion, tube fed mags are a pain in the ass to reload. Even with my Cooey 600 I find that reloading takes too long and that I do it too often. It isn't bad for target shooting but if you're plinking at all, just use a regular mag fed rifle.

I've heard sooo many bad things about Taurus with thier oh so wonderful customer service and all. I'd prefer to stay way from companies that won't back up thier goods here in Canada.

Its not about being anal its about being intelligent. We all took the course so we should all know the PROPER terms. Maybe I should start calling peoples wifes their #####. Everyone knows what I mean why change....

On a practical note. By using the proper terms you actually sound like you're well educated/trained in the sport you participate. Not to mention it's a good indicator when it comes to those who actually shoot and those who act like they do. (I'm not saying you don't shoot) Those who act like they shoot often use hollywood slang and talk s**t. Terms like "fully automatic" "banana CLIP" and "assault rifle" are key indicators that the person is a complete ass hat and deserves no more of my time.

Well thank you very much for finding time for us this time.

Oh, by the way, full banana assault rifle.

Does the Marlin 60 come up in the ee forums often? I looked into the different model 60s and Id only go for the 60ss. I love the wood grain look.

I've can't recall ever seeing one in the EE forum. I was looking into picking one up for a while until I got my TOZ.

I agree with this whole heartedly. I bought a tube fed browning lever .22 years ago for shooting chickens while hunting. It didn't take too many trips to change back to my old cooey 39. The browning was just too much of a pain in the ass to get rocking when you are trying to jump out of the truck. That said, the browning is a hell of a lot of fun for most other kinds of plinking, especially when you fill the thing up with shorts.

Both my Old Mossberg .22's have them, and they work great. :)

of the 3 mossberg i use on is tube fed and its the most reliable and accurate .22 i own, and for rate of fire it seems fater then the mag fed ones

i will agree that the tube seems to take longer but in reality i think its FASTER once you get used to it

I have a Taurus (Winchester) 63 that holds 10 rounds in the tube, and a Mossberg 151M that holds 12? or so. Both these guns are extremely reliable - misfeeds are almost unheard of in the 151 and haven't happened yet in the 63.

Crash,
tube mags being faster in what sense? firing or loading?

CF

I think he means for loading.
As I can load up 15 .22 LR rounds in my Mossberg 151Ms barrel/tube mag, faster then most can load a 10 round detachable .22 magazine.

They slide right in. :D

i got a Stevens 87b tube fed semi.holds 14 rounds, it's a great gun. same as the Savage model 6. nice thing is it can be used as single shot with longs and shorts, or a bolt action repeater with long rifles. very accurate and the stock is more adult sized then many giving it the feel of full size rifle and making it much more comfortable to shoot.
