Best non-gunsmithing mount for K-31?

I want to mount a scope (can just be a light 4X scope) on my K31. I don't care what kind of mount it is - forward scout, replacing a rear sight, etc... But I would like to avoid bubbaing it in any way. Are there any mounts you would suggest that work well?
 
You probably have a choice of a rear sight replacement base for a long eye relief scope, or one that clamps on the receiver, available through <diopter> on CGN or from Brownells. These have received favourable reports.
 
Yep, the St.Marie mount is very good. It is offset to the right or the action but this doesn't affect function. Also, it takes your .22 rings.

I don't know if Darrell Harrison makes a mount fot that rifle but I seem to remember that he does. I would get his if you can. I got one for the mosin and it is really nice. Good price too.
 
I just ordered a St. Marie mount as pictured above. Getting it through Diopter on CGN, who organized a group buy of K31 items. The St. Marie mount is nice, due to clamp on, no alterations required. It is said to hold 'zero' when taken on/off the rifle. It is highly rated by many users as one of the best out there. I think it would be a good choice. The K-31s shoot well enough to justify the sights. I've shot mine @300; shot my 7.62 TR the same day. The TR is more accurate, but I had the impression that the K-31 would not be an embarrassment in a match side by side with target rifles on the standard TR target.
 
The scope is offset. The drill and tap mounts set the scope to the left, the clamp on bases to the right. K-31s eject straight up, so the scope can't be there.
 
Tiriag is right, scope cannot be above the bolt due to ejection.

I cannot understand why anyone thinks the offset might be an issue.

The scope is placed a slight amount to one side, let's say one inch.
If you sight in at 200yds, that means your bullet should impact 1 inch to the other side of your POI at 400 yds. Does anyone seriously think they will notice that inch within their group size?

What about the effect of wind dift? Much more effect on bullet path than sight offset.

A 90° wind to the line of fire at these wind speeds would cause simliar amounts of dift in minutes. at 300m. depending on bullet and MV. These numbers are for C21 7.62 Nato

Wind Speed..... Moa drift...........Inchs, drift at 300m.
4 mph .............1 moa...............3 inches
8 mph..............2 moa...............6 inches
12 mph............3 moa...............9 inhes
16 mph............4 moa...............12 inches

I totally agree. EVERY scope on EVERY rifle is placed, say, 1" or so off the bore. What difference does it make where it is mounted on on the barrel? The scope can be mounted at any position in that 360 degree circle around the barrel. If one is worried about the offset, tilt the rifle so the scope is directly above your line of sight....kinda silly but I think most will understand the point. Like Diopter says, offset is not an issue.

As an example, most tanks and other AFV's have their sighting mechanisms mounted to the left or right of the barrel, not directly above the barrel like a scoped rifle.
