Best non-pal airgun for pests?

Weihrauch makes some excellent non firearm .22 air rifles, which I would love to own, but they are pricey, there is a Canadian dealer, I thought they were up in Yellowknife.

I think Weihrauch makes the best sub 500fps airgun, if you're willing to pay the premium required to own the "best".

You can get them from these guys in Alberta -

If money wasn't a major issue I'd buy a sub-500fps Weirauch HW50S in .22. It is a really nice short robust gun. In factory form it's designed to shoot just over 500 so you are getting a gun sized to the power level. You can get any Weirauch gun under 500 but say you got a non-PAL HW80 you're getting a big gun with a cut spring.

If money is an issue I'd buy a spring gun in .22 followed by something like the Backpacker. The last thing I'd buy is a CO2 gun unless you only plan on shooting in the house as cold temperatures will make it pretty ineffective.

Get a .22 no matter what. If you can find an old BSA Meteor in .22 that would be an excellent choice. They are officially at 500 fps in .22 so they still don't need a PAL yet they great springers. Post a wanted ad and get the superMeteor if you can (it's the one with a ventillated recoil pad and nicer stock). Another option is the "Canadian Hunter" which was a Chinese copy of a Diana in .22 and non-PAL. I don't know if they are still available but Epps in Ontario had them last summer.

i really liked my backpacker .22, but after a few thousand shots its pretty sloppy everywhere. the new ones come with much nice sights then mine did. i might have to go buy another one. spending 900 bucks on a gamo instead really turns me off, even tho the two arnt comparable
